According to a new report from The New York Post, a staggering 239 officers left the force in January and February, marking a 36 percent spike from the previous year’s numbers. Compared to 2021, resignations have seen a shocking 117 percent increase from the 110 officers who left the force that year.

The staggering loss of personnel is the worst in over 15 years when 250 officers left the force within the two first months of the year back in 2007. However, back then they weren’t leaving due to high crime, it was instead a contract dispute with city officials.

And, for every action, there’s a reaction, in this case an idiotic one.

The school admins then let the teens inside the main doors where they remained inside the school’s vestibule.

The high school, the Garret Morgan School of Leadership & Innovation, was in session at the time and teaches roughly 285 students in grades 9 through 12.

In a letter to Town Manager Justine Jones, Police Chief Josh Gibson expressed regret toward the negative changes he felt were occurring in the department.

“In my 21 years at the Kenly Police Department, we have seen ups and downs. But, especially in the last 3 years, we have made substantial progress that we had hoped to continue. However, due to the hostile work environment now present in the Town of Kenly, I do not believe progress is possible,” Gibson wrote.

“Jones has dedicated her career to public service over the last 16 years during which she worked in progressively responsible positions with local governments in Minnesota, Virginia, South Carolina and North Carolina,” the town wrote in the statement.

According to SPD, 354 police personnel have not submitted their records. Out of those who haven’t complied with the demand, 237 of them are patrol officers or work in operations. The mayor’s mandate came with the threat of termination, Post Millennial reported.

“This mandate serves two purposes. It accomplishes their (Seattle City Council’s) goal from last summer of defunding the police by half. Because at the end of this there will be half the officers that we had last year. It also weeds out the police officers and medical workers that will not enforce unconstitutional laws, mandates, and orders. Almost all that will be left are officers, that years from now, will say ‘I was just following orders,’” the officer concluded.
