NY Times discovers Sarah Palin not as dumb as the NY Times thought

After 3 years, NY Times discovers Sarah Palin is an anti-establishment populist. “She made three interlocking points. 1) the United States is now governed by a “permanent political class,” drawn from both parties, that is increasingly cut off from the concerns of regular people. 2) these Republicans and Democrats have allied with big business to mutual advantage to create what she called “corporate crony capitalism.” 3) the real political divide in the United States may no longer be between friends and foes of Big Government, but between friends and foes of vast, remote, unaccountable institutions (both public and private).” Exactly.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages.   • Her political history would have been good enough, but add to that the ceaseless vetting, books and their ‘fact checkers’, 24,000 emails forced open, fighting Obama since even before ‘Death Panels’ and long before a campaign . . .

    • The NYTimes is on borrowed time. If it were not for Carlos Slim propping up the NYTimes with his billions, the NYTimes would have went defunct. Most of their writers would end up online at the Daily Beast, HuffPo, or someone like that.

  • As I read this piece in the Times yesterday, two points came mind: the first being that it was refreshing to find an actual report on what was said as opposed to Sarahs' current hairstyle or what her children were up to – which leads to the second point: I not only hate the media, I despise it.

    From the very first minute Sarah hit the National scene she, as well as her family, has been castigated, maligned and slandered all over the place. It was a steadfast and notorious campaign to discredit the messenger so as to cover up the message. And cover it up they did – utilizing tabloid tactics that made the paparazzi heads spin.

    Hopefully,the media has come to finally realize they are no match for Sarah Palin and her message – they completely miscalculated this one as Sarah is stronger than they, she has risen above their smear campaign and continues with the same message – which now resonates much louder and more forceful than before.

    Anand Giridharadas get’s the tip of my hat for this one – I only hope he can keep his job.
