  • I love Zo but I got to say this one was a good one. A really good one.

• Talk about stupid administrators. This teacher needs to drag their asses into court and have them explain just what was wrong with the word used in the Spanish language. Hells bells all of these administrators claim that they are all for diversity, yet they go after a teacher for using the Spanish word for black.

  • The way I heard the story is that the teacher is black, negro is the Spanish word for the color black, AND it was in a Spanish class.
    I'm sure the administrators all have PHd's proving they can take tests, proving they can write lengthy papers that say absolutely nothing, and proving they do not have an ounce of common sense.

• Something is fishy here - the NYC schools have trouble firing pedophiles and thieves, hence their 'rubber room' where teachers who should be fired go to sit around and collect their salaries until they feel like retiring.

  • I agree, something doesn't add up. Schools are stupid, sure, but surely not this stupid.

    • There is something else. She was targeted to be fired, this is an excuse. If she said the word correctly, there is no way that this is grounds for firing unless she did other stuff before or she was being marked for firing for some reason. Is she a conservative? Needs more look into, cause this doesn't make sense.

• The word is spelled the same but not pronounced the same. In Spanish it is neg (rhymes with keg) ro, not nig-ro as in English. Remember the city official in D.C. who got fired for stating the city had to be more niggardly with it's budget?
