Obama 1st term approval rating 3rd lowest of post-WWII presidents. Only Ford and Carter were lower (neither of whom were re-elected.) So a majority of voters thought “Obama sucks but Romney would suck more”? That idea is gonna be sorely tested. Fore-ward.

This suggests to me that the electorate really came to dislike Obama but either because of the perceived inadequacy of his GOP replacements and/or his slander campaign against them, he steadily rose from that point to back over 50%. My inference is that this "high" will not last and his ratings will tumble precipitously once his inherent suckitude reasserts itself (there is no more "Cain is an adulterer" or "Romney causes cancer" to make him "look good" in comparison - there is just Obama and he sucks.)
The model Obama's presidency most reminds me of is Nixon. Not only for the imperiousness, the lying, the fraud and the hypocrisy inherent in his "governance" but the last campaign especially. I recall in late 1971-early 1972 Nixon had a mid-40s approval rating and seemed like a sure loser. Thru a successful regime of slander and dirty tricks, his people manipulated the Democrats (with help from the lefty loons emerging in the party at that time) into picking their weakest possible candidate to run against, the late George McGovern. Tricky Dick then went on to obliterate him in the fall election.
Everyone knows what happened after that. We know the media played a major role in destroying Nixon but it really wasn't due to them. In early 1973, the Washington Post was about the only media org doing anything on Watergate. Most of the other major news outlets had pretty much given up on it. Even after the Senate hearings started, it was mostly hot air that probably would've blown over because there was no real proof - until Alexander Butterfield dropped the startling bombshell one day that all of Nixon's office conversations were taped. Without that, I think he would've served out his 2nd term.
Obviously, whatever happens, Obama will have the media kissing his ass harder than Nixon had them kicking his. But the stage is set for the unintended consequences of his crappy first term "accomplishments" to begin blowing up in the country's face. A real crisis and his usual feckless response is all it would take to remind people of the 41% Obama and make them believe that was far too high. I'm not saying it will happen but if he follows the Nixon model....
I no longer have much confidence in election results. I know people are incredibly stupid but come on? Obama reelected? Harry Reid over and over? Ted Kennedy over and over? Elizabeth Warren? John Quisling Kerry over and over? UpChuck Schumer over and over? Biden???? etc etc.

It is strange for a man that got up to 110 percent of the vote in some places could have an approval rating so low. Perhaps it is time that he ban these obviously fraudulent ratings through another executive proclamation.
