Siga Technologies, a company controlled by Dem donor and billionaire Ronald O. Perelman, has gotten a no-bid contract to supply an unproven experimental smallpox remedy that may not even work. It’s a Solyndra with test tubes! But, to paraphrase what the lying-hypocrticial-fraud in chief once said, sooner or later you’ve made enough money – unless you’re a major Democrat donor, that is.

Rose, I guess I'll just have to say that my sister was very surprised at what an ordeal the reception of the HPV vaccine turned out to be for her daughter. I can't prove that the HPV vaccine is causing disabilities or deaths but when I read the accounts of mothers who talk about their healthy daughters suffering adverse events after receiving the vaccine up to and including death and/or disability, it leaves me skeptical of the vaccine's safety.

A little bit off the subject but this makes me think of the HPV vaccine. It is said to protect against four strains of HPV which cause most of the problems but not all of them. I've heard that they now think it only lasts for 4 to 6 years. There are still questions about the possible long-term effects of the vaccine. My sister got the vaccine for her oldest daughter when she was 11. I tried to intercede in speaking against her getting it but I was unsuccessful. Her daughter's doctor was really pushing it. I thought he might have a profit reason to push it. My niece passed out after the first shot. She was scared and didn't want to take the final two. She did though. She went to the hospital for a urinary tract infection during this time. Thank God she seems to be okay but I believe the reports of previously healthy young girls and women becoming disabled or even dying after receiving the vaccine. I think my sister meant well. But in deciding not to get the shots for her two younger daughters, instead letting them make their own decisions when they are older, I wonder if she thinks she might have made a mistake.
Gotta disagree with you here, Lion. Many people "pass out" or faint after simple injections, including vaccinations. Generally it is a vagovagal response out of ffear of the shot. You niece did not contract a UTI from a vaccination-it simply can't happen. And it does seem to protect against most of the HPV viruses linked to cervical cancer. We will not know how long the shot lasts until it has been out longer-many vaccinations require "booster" shots every few years to keep them active. No one has EVER been disabled, nor died from this vaccine. That is a false rumor. In 2007, OVER 12,OOO women were diagnoised with cervical cancer. some 4000 of them died. This is a treatable disease if caught early, with pap smears, but even then, those are significant mortality and morbidity rates. And it is an ugly death. If we can prevent it, so much the better. In addition, recent studies have shown a possible link between these same HPV strains and heart disease in men AND women, so they are considering recommending it for boys as well. It is given in the early teen years, in hopes that they will get the vaccine before exposure. But with 2nd graders involved in sexual acts, maybe 13 isn't young enough!
I have questions about how "good" the HPV vaccine is myself. First, how effective is it really when it only "gaurd against 6 strands of the HPV virus when there are over 80 different strands of the virus in total? Second, sexual activity isn't the only way you can get HPV, (you can be born with it for example) Will it do any good with people who where born with it?
I would think it would be ineffective if the chil was born carrying thevirus already, since the vaccine would only be of benefit if it was received prior to exposure. I don't know if it would work on different strains. If the babay has one of the strains not covered, maybe it would help against those that are. It is my understanding that the strains covered are focused on those most likely to cause cervical cancer, but I may be wrong there. As far as adverse effects, EVERYTHING gets reported, whether or not it can be trced to the vaccine or not. They don't even look at the vaccine unles they get numerous similar reports which indicate a possible cause and effect. Don't get me wrong. As more people are exposed to it, and more reports come in, it may be true that it is not what we thought it would be. Look at thalidomide! But to run to judgement that this vaccination is harming, even killing children is a little over reactionary at this time.
From my understanding the vaccine covers only 2 strains that cause cervical cancer and 4 that cause warts. I agree with you that MDLion's neice was most likely the victim of a vasovagal reaction (caused by the nervousness in anticipation of the needle "stick") and not the vaccine. The urinary tract infection was probably coincidental. We girls are quite prone to them, just the way our anatomy is.

That is the first thing I thought. When my odest was born in 81 I was all ready to give her a smallpox vaccination and was told no go. THe risk of the vaccination outweighted the danger of getting smallpox since no cases had been recorded world wide for several years. And my reaction to THAT was " there is smallpox out there somewhere, What happens when it is released and an entire generation is unvaccinated?" So here we are, we know that labs around the world DO indded have small pox virus sotres a,d they are looking for a treatment? Why not just go back to vaccina
I'm not vaccinated, but my husband is via army, nor are our children. Our parents are and have the scar........I have been wondering about that too, its an all too easy biological war to unleash on unvaccinated people. It would decimate my entire generation and our children. So since its still in the world why not keep up with the vaccines?
I don't see any conflict of interest or blatant corruption going on here. Isn't this the way Chicago politics works? To me it looks like ole barry is just trying to create jobs, save the environment, fight poverty, ruin the economy, steal from the People, funnel money into the DNC.
