Obama Administration to Ban Asthma Inhalers Over Environmental Concerns. The FDA said Thursday patients who use the epinephrine inhalers to treat mild asthma will need to switch by Dec. 31 to other types that do not contain chlorofluorocarbons, an aerosol substance once found in a variety of spray products. Ummm, will waivers be available for friends of the regime? Or will sufferers have to go down to a streetcorner instead of the drugstore: “Yo, check it out… I got weed, meth, crack and now asthma inhalers!” Is calling it a “black market” raaaaacist?

So.... Mother Earth comes first? So Mother Earth is not that good of a Mother then if it is all good to take something that helps people to protect herself. These people disgust me. What is wrong with this world and why are we allowing them to do this?

We have an emergency medical kit installed on all of our aircraft where I work. Thing is about the size of a PC and we need to replace them occasionally. Usually we replace them because a medical emergency onboard, we can't replace used components, so we put in a new kit. The kits have an albuterol inhaler and because of it, the kit is shipped as Dangerous Goods. Same PITA hoop jumping and paperwork as if I was shipping as real nasty dangerous chemical. It usually takes 20-25 minutes just to properly prepare the packaging and paperwork to send it back to our stock recovery center. I have to submit this to our freighthouse, then a guy there assumes responsibility. Everyone who handles the box, must sign the paperwork.Even the Captain signs a separate notification form so he knows he's carrying an albuterol inhaler in the cargo pit! .My solution? Remove the inhaler, toss in the trash, tape a note to the kit stating the inhaler was used during the emergency, therefore the kit is not considered dangerous goods and ship the thing out. Government way involves no less than 5 people and several hours. My way? 2 people, 5 minutes. Yes, I'm excited about them handling my healthcare.
As a longstanding asthmatic, I can assure you, you could sell those albuterol inhalers and make a fortune. A few years ago, our albuterol inhalers were altered to make them CFC free. Unfortuantely, the adulterated albuterol in them doesn't work. Every asthmatic I know was screaming (between gasping for air) because the new inhalers didn't relieve their symptoms. Since albuterol is considered and "emergency inhaler" as opposed to one taken daily for maintenence, that means that when patients were at their most vulnerable, they essentially had no medicine. We STILL can't get a decent inhaler. And the old ones cost about $5. The new ones (that don't work) ae about $50. And those are "with insurance" prices.
Sounds like something the Naderites would do.
