Obama flies to Dallas to promote O-Care… protest breaks out

Obama flies to Dallas to promote O-Care… protest breaks out. To paraphrase the late but unlamented Newspeak Newsweek, “We’re all Texans now.” [Video at the link.]

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • If my wife were not still working...at her own company, I'd quit my jobs, load my shit, and move to Texas right effing now. Then lead the movement to succeed.

    • Texas will never secede from the US. Contrary to what Pretty Ricky claims, we are too dependent on federal money and support.

      • Who the hell needs federal money? If you secede, you don't send the fed any more tax money that they redistribute to less productive states with heavy recipient populations.
States like Texas send more money to DC than they get back. If they secede, the workers will pay less taxes to support the state than they are paying the fed. Texas receives about $.94 for every dollar sent to DC, so you would get about a 6% reduction in taxes and still maintain the same lifestyle that you have now.

    • I would be right there with you if I could. I even have friends I could stay with that would join in the movement.

    • If Obamacare really gains a foothold, & if there is full blown amnesty, you will see a very serious succession movement in the country. Once you have 51% of the population voting for a living rather then earning what they get, it's over. That is when succession will be on the table, like it or not.

  • Sad that there were only 15 protestors........15,000 should be the number with the level of outrage that the resident provokes.

    • His visit was not particularly well publicized. Beside he showed up when Texan s were working to earn salaries that he will rob to pay for Obamacare.

    • They don't publicize presidential visits here, like they do other places. When I was living in Orlando, Bush Sr visited. They printed maps of his route for several days in the paper there. The last time they did that here was in 1963. Most people did not know he was visiting until he was on the way back.

      • They printed maps of his route for several days in the paper there.

Considering the libtard mentality of the Orlando papers, I think they were hoping for a repeat of Dallas.

    • I'm sure their would have been more, but unlike Quagmire's supporters, these people have to work for a living.

        • Professional protesters? Huh?

Seriously, like PH said, some people work for a living & don't have time for to protest, even if they wanted to.

          • Is there anything more ludicrous than an unemployed guy spending his day protesting affordable health care?

Yes, I guess there is. It's wingnut Jim Hoft trying to pretend that 15 people standing around holding dimwitted anti-Obama signs constitutes a newsworthy protest.

          • If the She-Witch goes to the link her head will explode...a whole web site devoted to making fun of libtards with logic...:)

          • Again babbling Barbie makes another asshole comment...You just can't help yourself can you? Obsessive-compulsive disorder is treatable......Stand in the fast lane of the freeway and your troubles go away....

          • Her stressor is the word Obama or Muslim. It's a spinal response. Never makes It to the higher brain.

          • How silly, Rose. I react to those words here only because, whenever a right winger includes one of them in his/her post, it's usually connected to a blatant lie or an expression of bigotry.

You see, I don't like lies and bigotry, and I'll call people on them every time. If that's a problem for you, I'll just have to live with your disapproval.

          • Thirds! But you have no problem spreading lies and being bigoted against anyone to the right of Karl Marx.

          • Rose, just ignore her. Nothing makes her crazier than that.
She will attack you for not replying to her stupidity.
She will claim victory because you didn’t reply to her.
All of that is just a cry for attention. Her daddy issues run deep. She hates being ignored, because her daddy ignored her.

Translation: "She caught me in a lie (claiming that I couldn't afford health care for my wife, when the truth is that I'd rather spend the money on junky fast food) and now I'm mad enough to spit nails."

  • BO apologists will hail this as an extraordinary act of political courage, a trip into the heart of gun country to stand up to the treasonable and greedy kulaks who think they know more about what they want in a health insurance policy than the government does.
