  • I still can't convince my lady that she is no longer represented by the Democrat Party. She just hates Republicans too much. And I cna understand some of that. I'm not particularly impressed myself.

      • i tend to believe that most people are more moderate then they think. The parties currently are not interested in a stable moderate core, and instead try to pull it apart

        • I've been a card-carrying Libertarian for decades. When it comes down to it, most of us vote Republican every time just to keep the Democrats out. I do vote for the Libertarian Presidential candidate every year, just as a protest, since my vote doesn't count anyway. (Living in California, voting Republican is a waste of time.)

          I mention something to her each day to show her that Democrats in general, and Obama in particular, don't represent her values. But it just pisses her off. She still thinks Carter was a good President.

She has delusions of grandeur (constantly thinking she and she alone can defend Muslims all aound the globe and Obama, neither of who care one whit for her or her defenses), Hallucinations (claiming to have read someing thing posted by a particular poster that was never posted) and in a general break with reality (unable to follow the thread, the time stamps, or understand that Obama is a moron.) I think more schizoid personality at the least.

• Though he has dropped out of the race, I was curious to see how well Santorum would do in the Kentucky primary. I've seen a number of Santorum bumper stickers around, usually on mini-vans. Rick got 9% here. Paul 13, Gingrich 6, and Romney 67. Obama has never gone over well here. Hillary Clinton crushed him 3 to 1 in the 2008 Democratic primary. Obama said Hillary would beat him here because Arkansas is closer to Illinois than Kentucky. The Illinois Senator apparently had no idea that Kentucky borders Illinois. I've been to Chicago from Louisville a couple of times for family weddings. Though Obama beat McCain narrowly in Kentucky's two largest cities, Louisville and Lexington in 2008, he was crushed almost everywhere else for a nearly 20 point McCain win. I would be surprised if Romney doesn't take Kentucky by a similar margin.
