    • Thank the LORD in heaven above that I no longer reside in Colorado; however, the way those sheriffs bound together against the governor gives me hope any move by the president will be impossible.

      Not so silent, you make an interesting point about police chiefs.

      How does this not end in civil disobedience and the courts or (dare I ask) civil war?

      • I don't know the answer to that one....I do believe Obama wants to turn the country upside down to force people to take action so he can take the opposite and equal reaction on civil liberties.

        • But who will enforce his scheme? At least half of the military will side with 100,000,000 gun owners and I don't the word "fundamental transformation" will mean what they think it means.

          • I'll bet it's WAY more than half of the military. For the most part the MEN hate him, those others he let in love him, but lets face it, if the bullets start to fly I'm betting they'll be dropping their rifles like the French or Iraqi's.

    • We can only hope that law enforcement actually decides to do what the name implies, and enforce the law/Constitution, and tell Barky to shove it up his ass.

        • That would work in most places, but in Florida, Sheriffs are elected.
          HOWEVER, every one in Florida did sign a pledge to refuse to enforce any federal law against the 2nd, so there is hope.

          • That's exactly why the Sheriff is the go-to guy. He's elected, therefore can be unelected. Police chiefs are appointed by the city, and are there to protect that corporation, not the people. Look around at the few leaders in local law enforcement. Almost ALL of them are Sheriffs.

            Which is not to say that all Police Chiefs are bad, or all Sheriffs are good. A while back, here in Bakersfield, local cops including Sheriff's deputies and Highway Patrol, beat a man to death in the front yard of a home across from a hospital. It was all caught on video. The Sheriff sent out Deputies after the fact to hold hostage all the people at the house that were involved in recording it, intimidating them into giving up their phones.

            Well, after all is said and done, the video IS out there, and the Kern County Coroner determined that the man actually died of a heart attack. It's just coincidence that he was being brutally beaten at the time. Most people outside of Kern County don't know that the Kern County Coroner and the Kern County Sheriff are the same person.

    • Not the way is he pushing shit day after day...His handlers are making sure he does the most amount of damage possible before he leaves.

      • I think maybe he is trying to make us "Crisis Weary" ... where we expect one indignity upon another hoisted on us on a daily basis until we get weary and give up.

    First off this was a piss poor article, poorly written.

    For those who don't know, "COPS" grants are like crack cocaine to law enforcement agencies. The DOJ has gotten them hooked and many departments can not run without the money because they were stupid and their cities used the money elsewhere.

    Now that Obama upped the grants in the last few years he has effectively taken control of them without firing a shot. They would have to cut services, in some cases to the bone in order to get buy.

    At the same time he has brought a number of agencies together under the umbrella of homeland security, TSA, Border Patrol, FBI, Secret Service and Homeland security. he has also armed the IRS, and a bunch of other agencies including the USDA. (WTF does the USDA need guns for????)

    Stage one, get the local departments dependent on federal money.

    Stage two, Build a national police force.

    Statege three is this story, changing the rules so that criminals have more rights than you. Think about it, Officers limited in arresting anyone but white folks because of a quota system, which even in good old libtard Kalifornia is illegal. So you get a black person who is DUI and you can't arrest them because you already arrested a black person that day and you only have a couple of whites left on your arrest quota.

    You might laugh except for the fact that the Border patrol is now releasing DUI drivers at the border saying it is a local problem and they are NOT going to enforce state laws.

    There has been an upswing in investigations of Obama non-believers, just look at the Texas thread, the Lois Learner Bullshit, and the attacks on the Tea Party.

    So for the future, Stage four, all local law enforcement agencies will have a federal overseer and will have to include the federal homeland security logo on their vehicles. Officers (Like Deepthinker said) that have experience will be reevaluated and or retired and the academies will all be taught by federal trainers. Now you have a new police force that will not respect the constitution in any way shape or form since it is "outdated" according to our retarded democratic friends.

    Stage five,, which may happen after the presidential elections (but set in motion before that time) will be the complete takeover of local law enforcement agencies by the federal government. Officers will be reevaluated again, and standards lowered so that more minorities and gays and transgenders and whatever else is out their will be front and center.

    Promotions will be based on lifestyle and political beliefs, not on actial job performance. Illegal aliens will be accepted as officer candidates to "balance out" the minority police hires.

    Stage five will be using the federal courts to change laws to favor criminals, especially minorities who are always the "victims" according to people like Al Sharpton. Police will be hamstrung to the point they may have to get a judges permission to make an arrest.

    Laws of evidence and procedure may change in courts as well. Idiots citizens will be convinced that criminals just make mistakes and should not do prison time, and many will be pardoned.

    Stage six will be the completion of any matters that need tiding up. Identification papers will be given out, travel and speech restricted in the interest of national security.

    There you have it. Adolph Obama and his SS and Gestapo will be in charge of your life. You might think I am just a little off, but while you smirk, the NSA is duly documenting your e-mails and calls. And our wonderful spineless republican friends just renewed the portions of the "patriot act" to allow the NSA to continue to snoop in every aspect of your life.

    It's a different world my friends. Never did I think the government of this country could be so evil or so corrupt. Like Rome, at around 200 years, the stupidity of political leaders and the greed and perversions of the citizens, cause the whole thing to collapse in on it self.

    Add to this crap, the fact we are in debt that we may never recover from, we have a very weakened Military by design of this president, and he is friendly with former enemies, and angry at former allies...

    Sit on the porch, have a stiff drink and seriously think about this shit, and remember if push comes to shove, you will need to remember who was helping Obama tear this country apart, and who stands for America.

  • Scary as hell. Older officers with common sense and experience will be "encouraged" to retire. That will allow for those who feel as if they are to interigate and search everyone. Look at what quagmire is doing to the senior officers in the military.
