Obama wants cheaper pennies and nickels. In 2011, it cost 2.4 cents to make one penny and 11.2 cents for each nickel, so Obama wants to find a cheaper metal mix. What for? Spending twice as much as something is worth sounds exactly like his energy policy, the Stimulus, Obamacare, etc, etc.

you debase yr currency.....read the R&F of Rome....
Call me cynical, but I think he wants, as a campaign issue, to be able to say he cut the cost of government.
Call me sarcastic, but it is no wonder he wants pennies and nickels to be cheaper, given he his policies have devalued them so much.
If they want to save money do away with pennies completely, almost nobody uses the damn things anymore, and the only people who might get pissed is Walmart.
I'm thinking the nickel could go away too. The way Obama's printing, maybe the dime and quarter.
I like quarters overall, though. They're just nice coins. Sometimes I give them away though, to the kids at faires. I stack twenty of them up, balance them on my right elbow, with my hand up by my ear. Then I tell them that I'm going to catch all the quarters with my right hand, and any that I miss, is theirs. Sometimes I miss a few. But the kids love it.
I am not a nasty person, and I read the title kind of fast, but I swear I read Obama wants cheaper penises. LOLOL! That would have made for a great story.
OMG! LMAO! You're probably right KimmyQueen. :)
Barney Frank originated that idea
Well, we could make them cheaper in say, China. But hey, don't worry about "cheaper" coins, worry about our soon to be worthless currency do to inflation & hopefully not hyperinflation.
0bozo should be on the three dollar bill.
You have to be dead to have your face on currency, but don't you republicans go getting any ideas.
Hm? Oh, I see. No, no, that's not the way our minds work. It was Hollywood leftards, though, that made an entire feature-length movie celebrating the assassination of President George W. Bush.
That's about right, given today's worth of a finsky is about $3.
Yes, Obozo and Reggie Love on a $3 bill. Great thought Big Al.

Hoo-wee! That was a long one. But here's another.

The congressional oath on that second link made me think about Obama messing up his oath of office when he took it. And then Roberts went by the White House to do the oath again in private. Did Bush mess up the oath the two times he took it? Did Sarah Palin mess up the oath when she became Governor of Alaska? It's not a big deal to me, I guess Obama and Roberts were nervous the first time taking and giving the oath. But I'm wondering what the reaction would be in the media and with the comedians and liberals in general, if a prominent conservative messed up his or her oath of office?
Ever see the way little barry crosses his legs?
I think he is a three dollar bill.
MooChell is certainly the man of the house!
cheaper pennies and nickels with his ugly mug on them ala roman coin...
Well, this is something that gets kicked around every so often by various administrations, I believe. In this case, I'd think it's the least of our worries.
They could put Sock Puppet's face on the plugged nickel though!
How about printing Obama and the voodoo witch doctor's faces on WOODEN NICKLES and call it the socialist's dollar. hhhmmm, 5 wooden nickles for a gallon of gas.
Just wait...while he's at it they may as well put Obama's mug on the penny.
How about an Obama penny made of tin? The hollowness of the Obama penny could make one think of a President who talks big but can't deliver.
I cash my pennies in on a machine at the Kroger every now and again. They charge you 9% but I end up with 10 or 20 dollars.
Then it would be called the red cent for two reasons!
On the other hand, the paper that dollars are printed on will soon be worth more the dollars themselves, so it all comes out even, right?
