• The fact that the website cost over $600 million should tell you how bad this thing is. The people who pushed for Obamacare, the people implementing Obamacare, the people who think that they are getting something for nothing with Obamacare, & everyone in between who think, "...how bad could it really be...", can eff themselves. You are not Americans, you don't hold American ideals, you don't know what it means to be an American, & this country would be way better without you. When the blowback comes, & it will, suck it up. Because I will never forgive or forget who imposed Obamacare on this nation, & I'll let you know about it.

    1. The company that got the no bid contract to build the cACA website was fired by the Canadian government for being 14 months behind on work they were doing there.

    • I would wager some leftist progressive organization is connected to this company. I smell cronyism with this deal, & they will get away with it too. Progressives always take care of their own, like GE & the UAW in the GM deals. $600 million plus pissed away.

      • Probably. I hear the company has done a few other sites that were considered OK.

• If everyone pays the fine and their own medical bills, not only will it bring prices down, but Obamacare will crash and burn, because the only people that will sign up for it are the ones with the most expensive conditions.

• It keeps crashing because the insurance rates are rising faster then their bug ridden code can keep up.

• However it was found that a lot of older people with diseases and age related health issues may have enough income to pay for insurance themselves they just don't want to and in essence the young and healthy will have to pay for them. So yes the government is messed up, but there are a lot of people out there who aren't truly poor, but are sick (mainly bc of their own actions) who are going to take advantage because they don't want to pay high premiums. I find that selfish and disgusting. Will this legislation make sure that those that CAN pay aren't taking advantage? Of course not! This is designed for the corrupt, the selfish and the disgusting to take advantage of producers and those who engage in responsible living.

  • To about 50% of the electorate, yes.

• This whole fiasco is timed with the current budget showdown. As soon as Boehner caves, and I believe he will, they flip the switch on the website. Everything on the site will magically begin to function and the numbers will be there for all to behold. But, it'll be too late then, won't it? The Dems outsmart the Rinos ... again.

  • I don't now. Theconsensus opinion is that the site was poorly built to begin with, and the crashes are more that just glitches, or crashing because of heavy traffic.

    • That's because the traffic on the website has dropped off by 88%.
      People are already disgusted, shocked by the prices, and opting to pay the fine.

      • What's the fine this year? The lower of 1% of income or $95.00? Real tough decision since if you need it you can sign up anytime. Similar to buying auto collision after you wreck the car. What can go wrong?

        • Exactly, nothing like bankrupting the program before it's even open.
          How long do you think it will be before the entire progran collapses under it's own weight?

        • I think it will all depend on how many people pay the fine, vs how many actually get the coverage.
          We already know that people with very expensive ailments will opt for the coverage, and those who pay the fine will be covering those costs.

        • Without enough young healthy people supporting the people you mention, the thing can't last. It will collapse.

• The idea seems to be 'Sign up now for your free stuff...and we'll send you your AFFORDABLE bill later!'. They can fool some of BO's low-information base with this, but that's a limited number. Again, why are Republicans in Congress trying to de-fund this turkey when it should be apparent that it's going to de-fund itself in few months, when nobody signs up?

  • I still say that the BEST thing Rs in Congress can do right now is smile and say Yes to everything -- give Stompyfoot everything he wants . . . and in another year or so, when everything comes crashing down around him, we can just keep smiling and say "Toldja so!"
    And THAT is a lesson that will resignate with the voters.

    Honestly, I think he's scared sh##less that he gets that kind of cooperation.
