Obama’s EEOC tells trucking companies to hire alcoholics…. The EEOC is now demanding that trucking companies like Old Dominion Freight Line not only hire and employ “recovering” alcoholics, but also to allow them to continue working as interstate truckers rather than being assigned “to a less safety-sensitive position.” Well, if we can have a mental midget Marxist running the US government, having a few drunks driving 18-wheelers around doesn’t seem like a big deal. We wonder if Obama hires the sobriety-challenged to pilot his 2 million dollar bus or his golf cart?

Joseph Ray Terry had all the right credentials: as a lawyer, he had spent many years fighting discrimination against minorities. His employer, the EEOC, had consistently given Mr. Terry “superior” and “excellent” performance reviews. But Mr. Terry was white, and he was forced to repeatedly sue the EEOC in order to win a promotion for which he had been applying for over 10 years!
Mr. Terry is a white, Louisiana-trained lawyer. In 1984 he submitted his first application within EEOC to become a district director for EEOC. Over the next 10 years EEOC repeatedly turned Terry down because he is white, and EEOC promoted many “disadvantaged minorites” ahead of Mr. Terry, one of whom did not even have a high school diploma. District Director Opus Perry a Black attorney never found any Race (Black) discrimination in New Orleans LA and he was promoted to District Dirctor of a larger Black community of Los Angelas CA.

That's like asking Dale Earnhart Jr. to go down to the methadone clinic to get a back up driver to train. This mental ward did they get these gubment officials from?

Trucking companies don't hire alcoholics because of insurance reasons.
If you are a known alcoholic, or have a DUI, the cost of liability insurance as a trucker is astronomical.
This isn't an EEOC issue, it's an insurance issue, and Obama is once again rewarding his contributors.
You notice that there was no edict telling the insurance companies that they can't charge more just because the driver is an alcoholic.
Same for railroads. That first DUI should be your ticket to never getting a job where you operate dangerous equipment. I know it's easy to slip up -- but with DUI, all too often, it is others that pay for your mistakes.
Using the Progressive logic which runs through many of these odd bureaucratic decisions, if trucking company A hires recovering alcoholic B as a driver, and he subsequently falls off the wagon and runs over pedestrian C, then pedestrian C's family could sue the EEOC for forcing company A to hire recovering alcoholic B, and, as usual, the taxpayers would pay. In Progressive logic, the taxpayers always pay.
