While President Softee and the no-Keystone cops are flushing our money down a Solyndrical tube, North Dakota oil producers are getting rich and reducing our energy imports. The center of gravity in global energy is shifting, no thanks to you-know-who.

Having grown up in North Dakota I can tell you it's been a well known fact for years. Besides the oil is billions of tons of lignite coal which is a brown, softer coal that pollutes less when burned, It was nothing to see several 110 coal trains going thru my hometown four or five times a day, add natural gas and the entire state is a win for energy. Almost forgot hydroelectric is another big part of the state and rates are dirt cheap. Plus the fact the folks there are decent, the state has a 3 percent unemployment rate and a billion dollar budget surplus. these little state folks do it right. Obungles has no idea what America has or how well we could do for ourselves instead he would rather send money to countries that don't like us because he wants to be a "world citizen". The putz probably can't find North Dakota on a map even with the help of a number of his advisers. North Dakota is not alone, several states including Alaska of course and even the peoples republic of Kalifornia are oil rich. But the environmental wackos would rather have you live in a mud hut and eat tofu all day long and ride a bike to work. Too bad we let people who have no understanding of America try to direct the agenda. Perhaps what we need is an energy plant where we could use people like Al Gore as fuel. Fat burns quite hot and could be used to turn water into steam to produce electricity. I am sure the liberals are looking hard at North Dakota trying to figure out how to shut this down in the name of ecology. Remember a while back when the people in Montana told the BATF to screw themselves and that guns produced in Montana were not subject to federal regulations? Same kind of attitude goes for folks in North Dakota. They don't need nor care much about Washington D.C. They are an independent bunch who like guns and religion. A double whammy for Obungles and his merry band of pillagers.

My dad was born near Bismarck in '22. Hearty and hale sorts are native there. There are some tough parts to this great country. That northern tier exhibits a great deal of it.
One of the comments on the site in the article goes around this idea; some doofus suggests that the next spike in oil prices could drive gas to over 6 dollars a gallon, therefore we must end our dependence on fossil fuels NOW!!! To which a bright person responded by repeating that, then stating 'the nexr spike in food prices could drive broccoli to over 6 dollars a pound therefore we must stop eating broccoli now, instead of growing more.' And that is about as clear as it can be said. We should be pulling as much fossil fuel as we can and rather than pouring it into the world market first, we should be using it. This is the best way to reduce our dependence on foreign countries and it would drive our industrial prowess to create new energy sources, among other things.
Except we can't grow more oil. As terrible as our prices are, I am astounded when I read that in Europe, petrol is several dollars A LITER! Maybe that's where they are trying to take us.
Right, we can't grow it, but we can pull it out. They're doing it in ND. The point has more to do with ending the dependence on fossil fuel at whatever cost, which is what the lefties are saying. The Clinton administration introduced us to Carol Browner. She went on record saying that it just wasn't fair that we didn't pay as much for gas as the Europeans did, not that it was not fair they had to pay too much. That is the mind set. That is our commie president's desire, to necessarily cause energy rates to skyrocket, to facilitate financing dream power. Then we can all be forced to mass transit and government controlled movement.
Energy costs must necessarily sky-rocket under the communist plan in order to facilitate the bankrupting of the country through wasteful support of solyndra-like businesses. This will enrich the communist bastards that seek to defile this nation by eliminating the middle class and creating a more manageable slave class to serve the ruling-elitists. Simple really. It is math. No more of this getting ahead for the little people and entrepreneurial sorts. All things controlled by the central government and fairness for all. We are now slipping into the realm of it becoming a criminal offense to NOT go after these untapped reserves. Alternate energy sources are not going to come close to handling the demand. Fossil fuels are here to stay. Solar energy can help, but it's got to be promoted on an individual basis. People are setting up their own solar systems on their own property and going off the grid, selling power back to the power companies. This will work because it's the individual's choice and it hasn't been stuffed down our throat bwo a Solyndra scam. Wake up America!
Actually Rim, fossil fuels are NOT here to stay, which is the problem. We have consumed a huge percentage of all the fossil fuels in the world in the last 100 years. Fuel it took millinia to create. We al knoiw this, and plans, theories and alternatives have been discussed for decades. The problem was that was all that was done-discuss. We need to buckle down and really put some time and effort into things like batteries for storage, instead of dumping stuff on the market that will never wrok and willonly turn people off to the idea,.
For now, the world seems to be swimming in oil.

I'm wondering how long it will take the Obama Admin and their EPA to shut the whole thing down? I'm sure there is some endangered termite somewhere up there that must be saved! Then maybe they'll allow Canada to slant drill from across the border, take the oil, and sell it to us at a huge profit!
I wonder if they need a few little coffee shops up there?
