O’Malley proposes tying gas to sales tax, to alter traffic woes Yup this is the same ass-clown that is proposing taxes on Internet downloads with the destination of computers residing in “his” fair state. But here is a clue for this fool. Pay for the roads and bridges from the money that has already been usurped from the tax slaves of Maryland. It is high time that those paying everybody’s fair share got the minimum return on their compulsory investment.

If they were to follow the law, sales tax on gasoline won't be all that much. Legally, they aren't allowed to charge a tax on a tax. Which means they can only tax the original price of the product before federal and state excise taxes. But we all know how that works, just look at liquor sales. They charge sales tax on alcohol, but they charge it on the entire cost, taxes included, so you are getting double taxed.
Funny how no politician has ever noticed that!

Heard about the "download tax", & it's stupid. They will tax anything if they are allowed. They tax you when you die, & they are trying to tax breathing. It's not just Maryland, but progressives everywhere.
Honest Marylanders will tell you that their state probably has the most corrupt state government out of all the states. The government leaders make most other elected leaders look like Boy Scouts.
All of these dopey libruls are getting exactly what they deserve in both Maryland and California.
Problem is, the conservatives in the liberal states are getting exactly what the liberals deserve too.
Tax and squander. Half the cost at the fuel pumps go to taxes already. The waste must be astronomical but the only solution in their mind is more money.
This liberal idiot comes up with taxes faster the Gov Moonbeam. It must be the influx of all those homeless rats from DC.

The problem is they are destroying America, & not just in their own states. Many of the idiots who flee the state because of what it's become, move to another state & vote for the very same types of politicians who screwed up the state they just left.
Where I grew up (Oregon) and now reside (Colorado) are classic examples of Californication and the very thing you've described, dbhoy.
Colorado kills me. I lived there for a year when I was in the Air Force. Denver was a hellhole, and the only redeeming quality it had was all the nursing students hitting the bars on the weekend to blow off some steam. ;-)
