Oregon to “rehabilitate” businesses opposed to gay marriage. See, they don’t want to destroy you. They simply want your thoughts conforming to what the gay mafia deems acceptable. Denounce your former beliefs and they will leave you be. They aren’t evil people, don’t you get it? They’re people involved in a revolution – a Cultural Revolution.

    If I am denied service somewhere... and the first thing I do is run to the ACLU to sue the person or business... isn't my real agenda the fact that I wanted to punish the person and perhaps I knew that I would be denied by this person or business?

    I can understand that discrimination is not something that is pleasant, however I am not sure that the government and the law is the answer here. You cannot stop racism nor any type of discrimination with laws and regulations. It is not the hallmark of a free society for government and laws to punish people for beliefs and ideas. There is ALWAYS limits of course. If the idea of discrimination is such that it makes the person ACT upon it negatively or criminally OBVIOUSLY that is wrong. If a person is a racist and they take time to voice their racism, obviously I would feel uneasy, but I will also just go ahead and ignore the person and move on with my life. I can spend my time and money where I am welcomed. Spending time and money with an attorney and all of that to punish the person for being a racist is a waste. If the person however seeks to harm me financially, physically, mentally (by constant pursuit of me even though I am trying to stay away) because they are a racist that is criminal and an infringement of my rights and that person should be prosecuted. Not giving me a cake for a wedding is not grounds for me to sue someone when I can get cake elsewhere. Government shouldn't get involved here, because capitalistic processes will take over. A baker who discriminates will either prosper or go broke if it is found that the majority of the people in the community don't like his business practices.

    The problem would be if the GOVERNMENT endorses discrimination. When that happens OTHERS will be discriminated against. Government should have never endorsed slavery, nor it should have endorsed any form of apartheid or discriminatory practices. Now the government is doing it again! Under the guise of protecting a class of people the government is discriminating another class of people! This is a problem, this is why this whole thing is wrong.

    • I have people I don't want to work for, usually because the aggravation isn't worth what I would get paid, so I use the excuse of being too busy.
      I forsee lots of bakeries being too busy to cater certain parties.

    As the left pushes more and more, all they truly are doing is pushing the conservatives closer and closer to armed up rising. At some point those doing the pushing will suddenly get a large shove back.

    Private business is just that private. The government has no business telling a private business how it should conduct business based upon its beliefs. In this part of the state there is a company that tired used to do t shirts for the Gay pride parade. It was hauled in front of a community board(witch hunt) and threatened with all kinds of things. It did not back down and threatened a counter suit. All this even after the company went out of its way to find another company who would do the t shirts at the same cost. This was nothing more than an attempt by the radical gay community to force a private company to go against its beliefs and principles. Two things the left severely lack.

  • For all those "modern," "hip," "tolerant" Christians who don't stand up against this onslaught, I have a few quick questions:

    Have you considered that polygamy is next... which means there will also be homosexual polygamy?

    What are you going to do when 5 gay men come to your church, catering business or bakery and demand that you provide services for their 5-way marriage?

    What are you going to do when those 5 men want to adopt children into their "loving home"?

    Oh, you're going to stand up THEN?

  • A lot of people I know and a lot of fools in the media like Greg Gutfeld and his ilk laugh at people who warned that this was going to happen. It is happening all over the country and world. Ppl don't want to understand that people who engage in aberrant behavior WANT AND NEED for everyone else to ACCEPT even if by force and will use the government as a weapon if necessary. This is the reason why this whole "gay marriage" thing was a bad idea. People don't want to listen, they want to qualify that ALL behaviors and beliefs are the same and therefore everyone is safe from tyranny if we can just understand one another and crap. *Sighs* People...

    • I say it a lot, Kimmy: The lesson of Sodom & Gomorrah is that the orgy WILL come to your door and demand that you participate. If you think you can "opt out," you are in for a rude awakening.

      • Sadly there may be no actual angels to blind them, take you by the hand and get you the hell out. I guess that is why arming ourselves is the best solution to that problem.

    • I missed out on a great ammo deal this week. A new store called Rural King opened near here and they had 1400 round buckets of .22 lr hollow points for $69.99, limit 2. Got to the store at 11:00 and the entire pallet was gone!

  • Man, I am so glad I left Portland while there was at least some vestige of sanity remaining in that city, not much, but some.

  • The word "rehabilitate" drips with Marxist Socialist derision. Rehabilitation is tantamount to bureaucratic thuggery, mixed with shades of the Chicago Way, and steeped in heavy handed overtones of Longshoreman unionism: "Cross this picket line and die scab!" and filled with a "Get the word out, or else, mentality!"
