• Interesting that it is spying on members of Congress that has provoked the outrage and not the mass violation of our 4th amendment protection against unreasonable search and seizure. I guess that Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner feels that it's okay to collect our data without just cause or warrant...

• Almost Nixonian? This makes Nixon look like a small time burglar...

• So, there is a faction that is considering calling an Article 5 Convention. While that sounds like a good idea, we must go into this with our eyes wide open.

• Nixon, for whatever his faults were, was a much more honorable man, and Constitutionalist, than this POS.

    • Maybe true, but a towering statesman compared to what we got now.

        • I've got a soft spot for Nixon, not because of anything he ever did (largely in opposition to it, I guess) but because of the way he has been treated for the last forty years. Watergate was a bodycountless, nearly victimless joke when compared to any number of scandals committed over the last hundred years. And especially those of the last 6. Sure he was a paranoid lunatic but he should be largely forgotten by now, or if remembered for anything his terrible public policies (ending Bretton-Woods, EPA etc)and the fact that Kennedy likely stole the 1960 election from him.

          Better than Obama? Yes absolutely, a million times better. But even that comes, I think, with a qualifier. Nixon could never get away with being Obama, even if he had the technology, merely because the media wouldn't let him get away with it. As is clearly evidenced by the fact that so many years later a man that has bugged practically every man woman and child in this nation is still measured on the scale of a man that failed to cover up the botched bugging of a hotel room.

          Just my two cents, and probably worth about half that.

        • I certainly would rather have Nixon than King Barky any day of the year. Regardless of his failings, Nixon was a Saint compared to this damned Communist!

    • If I had to make a choice between an imperialistic douche and a Constitution smashing Communist, I'll take the douche.

      • Valid point but RMN was no friend of the Constitution either. He just wasn't a communist like we have now.

        • Also a valid point. Personally, I would like to see another Eisenhower in the White House.
