It was circling, so most probably a helicopter.
Just the tip of the proverbial iceberg I'm afraid. Next up, members of the TSA at every street corner asking for papers.
Anyone who is surprised at this knowledge hasn't been paying attention.
And just because something is legal, or lawful, doesn't mean it is moral.
If you like your airspace, you can keep your airspace....
That zapping of a US citizen by a drone in Yemen a couple years back starts to take on a different meaning now, doesn't it?

I had not heard the disposition of this case, hadn't thought about it for some time, and then your comment spurred/mobilized/bribed* me to research it.
from No Brain Commiecast interwebs site: William H. Merideth was cleared of first-degree endangerment and criminal mischief charges Monday when a judge ruled he had the right to shoot down David Boggs' drone.
"I think it's credible testimony that his drone was hovering from anywhere, for two or three times over these people's property, that it was an invasion of their privacy and that they had the right to shoot this drone," Bullitt County Judge Rebecca Ward said, according to NBC affiliate WAVE.
Merideth was arrested in July and admitted to shooting down the drone. He told NBC News at the time that the device was flying near his yard and he "had no way of knowing (if) it was a predator looking at my children."
"I feel good. I feel vindicated," Merideth said Monday. "I was being watched. It was an invasion of privacy and I just, I wouldn't have put up with it no more," he told the station.

Time to paint a giant hand with a middle finger extended on top of our cars and homes.
It would be nice if at least one of the Presidential candidates would try to make an issue of this. A complete ban on domestic use of military drones would be a good place to start.
