  • You guys are killing me! I wonder if Illinois is the leading maker of creamed cheese in the country?

  • It should read, "Where's the beef?" That stretch of road could be named The Clara Pelle Memorial Highway.

  • Off-topic PSA, if anyone cares - Romney is squeaking ahead of Santorum from a virtual dead heat a couple hours ago, with THE GREAT RON PAUL a respectable 3rd place, but falling behind. (25/24/21 %, resp.) Newt and Rick distant 4 & 5. All else securely in "also-ran" condition.

    • Damn I'm finally getting the fever. Romney & Santorum are in a dead heat, squeaking their way back and forth over the 24/25 % line with 96% + precincts in. Paul holding at 21. Everyone else dead in the water or just DOA.

        • Perry needs to get out of the presidential contest before he costs Santorum any chance at South Carolina.

          • Other than Bush the First republicans have not had a presidential candidate place higher than third in the Hawkeye Cockeye in over 40 years so this really does not mean that much. Look for Paul or Gingrich to be the candidate if history holds true.

          • whiskeyriver:"Look for Paul or Gingrich to be the candidate"

I would prefer Gingrich and maybe even Paul to Romney. But is Newt now too badly damaged from Romney's pounding of him with negative commercials? Could Paul actually get enough Republicans to get the nomination? I just get tired of Republican conservatives splitting up the vote and a McCain or Romney being the nominee. If it could get down to a Romney-Santorum-Paul race, I think Romney is in trouble. I think Perry is only diluting the conservative vote at this point. Probably Newt too. Santorum is now solidly in second place.

          • I'm with you, too many cooks are spoiling the soup. The scary thing is if Santorum or Paul end up being the candidate they are too far to the right for the average dimbulb that does not understand the issues and will not have a chance. If Gingrich gets the nod you can bet his past will come out to haunt him but what choice do we have?

And, don't worry about the polls just yet, there is a lot of time and states left so we will have to wait. Whoever comes out on top will be better than Obama, we just have to hope the voters see through all the mud slinging.
