More itemization reflecting added costs that the illegal legislation is exacting on more transactions... people need to become enraged- at the goons who just had to ram the bill through before reading it- so that we could find out what's in it.
We cannot allow the process of its passage be forgotten.
Your comment reminded me of something I read a long, long time ago...
A small business guy with not a whole lot of employees (under 50?), lined them all up on payday and paid them in cash, and had like 5 or 6 more windows for them to pass before going out the door...
Local, State, Federal, Fica yadda yadda, and they had to actually give the cash back. Don't know if it's true, but it ought to be. The "peons" had a fit when they actually had to hand over the cash.
Urban Legend? Maybe, but it ought to be true every payday.
As noted xxx above, everytime to make a purchase, you are paying for overhead, which includes employee wages and benefits. They just broke it out and made it a line item. This is why raising minimum wages won't result in any real incomeincrease. The businesses will raise prices to cover the cost, and there will be no net increase in the wage. When I started working, minimum wage was $1.25/hr. And everytime minimum wage went up, costs went up, so now at $7 + per hour, they are still not making a living wage.
F-em. If they want me to pay that, they need to show me where the law says I have to.

Well duh!!! Whether or not it's itemized on your bill you pay for all government mandates. I presume the customer, Joey Keenum, will be voting conservative from now on.
If such a candidate existed
The customer was outraged that they "had to pay" for someone else's healthcare. First--the money you spend in any establishment is "paying for" someone else's wages, liability insurance, health care insurance, lights, power, etc. (i.e., overhead) so please do not get "outraged" over that. BUT--I would rather the management tell me how some of my money has to be spent by them rather than simply raise prices by 2% across the board and hide it.
Most of those other things are not being required by the government though.
All the more reason to itemize it. I'd like to see a line by line breakdown of exactly how much of my bill goes to government garbage. Some gas stations here in CA used to put signs on the pumps that listed the taxes per gallon. I'd put a sign out that shows what the fuel would cost without government intervention.
Stick it in their face so they're forced to see it. Of course, they'd rather die than admit the truth.
Anyone who still believes Odamadeathcare is anything more than a joke and a tax increase should wait till the IRSS gets their share. It is amazing how many people are soooooo stupid they still believe in this can of crap handed to you by the democrats.
