I was at the GOPac fundraiser n DC many years ago with Rush Limbaugh as keynote speaker. He came out and started with the joke that he bought his mother a new can opener for the cat food she has to eat (that was the line of the day from the dems - they wanted to pass some bill that would further pad their pockets and those of their contributors while smearing any opponent as wanting old people to die in the streets).
The next day Rep Pat Schroeder (D, Colo), had a presser. With the usual constipated look, she actually quoted Rush as "proof" that conservatives are heartless, evil people who are "against" old people.
Yes, she actually believed what Rush said.
The following day she had some barely coherent statement that of course she knew it was a joke, but that's not the point ...
You would think that after the recent failures from leftist websites, they would start checking their sources before reporting on these stories.
Like the MSM why check, just run the story and apologize later..just like the democrats....
