So, if I get this right - "eat, drink and be merry" is IN.
But the God of heaven and earth don't like it when we humans say that.
God's call to the human race is -
And in that day did the Lord GOD of hosts call to weeping, and to mourning, and to baldness, and to girding with sackcloth:
But the human race says:
Isa 22:13 And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die. (BASICALLY DOING THE OPPOSITE)
The response of GOD is - not to forgive these people and they die in some horrible way. (say, war - famine - earthquake, hurricane -really bad times)
Isa 22:14 And it was revealed in mine ears by the LORD of hosts, Surely this iniquity shall not be purged from you till ye die, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.
I turn to the Creator and Jesus HIS son at times I hear this type of speach.
God shouts to us and uses bad times to express it.
