BALDERDASH! These people are not in need. They are in want! with the exception of the few previously homeless people, These Fleas volunteered to be out here. NOBODY made them go! And the survivors will not win a million bucks either.
The OWSers response to a rapist was to chase him out of the camp shouting "Pervert!", leaving him free to roam the city to find another victim. It seems that the occupiers don't consider rape a serious crime like being harassed by the cops. It's irresponsible and sexist.
The problem with a full time street demonstration is inevitably it will be taken over by street people---and street people aren't know for supressing their appetite for drugs, alcohol and sex.
Going to be an interesting winter.
