Public Schools Forcibly Subject Students To ‘Meatless Monday’ Activism. Can we get a ‘Moron Monday’ where the Federal Government shuts down?

  • I don't have a problem with making lunch food healthy since it benefits the child in the long run but I don't understand the concept of having no meat on Mondays.

  • I don't really havemuch issue with this. I appreciate its the principle, but when I was a kid,we all got fish or something on Fridays, even if we weren't Roman. It didn't hurt us any.

    • No one outside of your house MADE you eat it though, did they?
That's the difference. It should be the parents choice, not the school's or Michelle Obama's.

      • Interesting point but one could argue that it is not forcing since parents have the option of packing lunch for their kids. Now if a school banned homemade lunches then I see that as a problem.

        • One could ague that most parents these days (especially in the big cities) won't bother to make their kids a lunch on Monday, therefore one could are they are indeed being forced.

Another aspect of this is it's shameless brainwashing. It's teaching kids Mr. Hot Dog is bad and Mrs. Vegi Taco is good. Another item that should be left to the parents.

          • Nutritionis being taught e v erywhere, from school to TV shows. There is some serious ignorance about food in this country, and I don't have a problem with trying to correct that. Going into WWII our population was massively mal nourished, in part because of the Depression and the dust bowl. We became ebnamored with the idea that meat meant wealth, and so overindulge a bit. For kids to know veggies are good, and to encourage them to develop their tastebuds is fine with me!

          • Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't hot dogs horribly unhealthy? I don't see why they can keep meat in the menu but use lean meat such as turkey meat.

  • Simple, parents should send their kids to school with their own home made lunch on Mondays, with whatever leftover meats there are from dinner. Then, if the school takes away their lunch, the parents can sue for usurping parental authority.

  • Set up a couple large grills in the faculty parking lot (or some place upwind of the school) and begin cooking steaks, ribs, chicken breasts, sausages, and all manner of meat... make sure it's a smokey affair so that senses are seduced and people are tempted to revolt against something so-- well, revolting.

  • Better would be "school-less Mondays" and Teacher union-less Tuesdays, Common Core-less Wednesdays, Stupidity-less Thursdays, and Smorgasbord-Fridays...
