Radical stupidity: Academics endorse $20,000 income for everyone, working or not. “Companies would have to hike the minimum wage to $30,000 or $40,000 to attract any workers. Prices would go up accordingly, and the inflation aspects of a guaranteed ‘living income’ would immediately make $20,000 too little to live on.” But the inflation would be blamed on greedy businesses and give politicians another opportunity to grandstand as “defender of the little guy” while stuffing their pockets full of campaign contributions from those same greedy businesses behind the scenes. It’s a pol’s dream come true.

Actually, such a measure would probably reduce the costs of the Obamaland welfare state.
The Welfare professionals would certainly protest by the millions if it was about to be applied because their living standards would seriously decline, often several times over, sometimes even more.
In addition to massive riots, there would be massive rise in crime as many loose enough weight to do them.
Cause and effect. Raise the minimum wage and the cost of everything goes up right along with it. Take a look at what has happened in and around Seattle. They raised the minimum wage and now hours are being cut and people are losing their jobs.
The professional welfare leeches already gets more than the middle-class worker...

OK, this is Canada we're talking about, which makes sense to me, because the French have been doing this since 1988, and much of Canada is French. It doesn't have to make sense, if you've ever spent time around French Canadians, you would understand what I mean.

Make the minimum wage $500 an hour. After a year people are millionaires and can retire allowing the next person to take the job and become a millionaire. Naturally, a loaf of bread would probably cost $25,000 but Dear Leader can fix that with some Nixon-era price controls. Problem solved. Next!
Makes me wonder if these "radical" academics are just sitting around smoking a lot of dope and on occasion they think up stuff like this as a goof. While still stoned they publish it and then laugh their asses off watching real academics and economists respond with frustration and exasperation at the sheer stupidity.
