America has wound up with a charming leftist as a president. And this scares me. This scares me not because I hate leftists. I don’t. I have many charming leftist friends. They’re lovely people – as long as they keep their nose out of things they don’t understand. Such as making a living.
When charming leftists stick their nose into things they don’t understand they become ratchet-jawed purveyors of monkey-doodle and baked wind. They are piddlers upon merit, beggars at the door of accomplishment, thieves of livelihood, envy coddling tax lice applauding themselves for giving away other people’s money. They are the lap dogs of the poly sci-class, returning to the vomit of collectivism. They are pig herders tending that sow-who-eats-her-young, the welfare state. They are muck-dwelling bottom-feeders growing fat on the worries and disappointments of the electorate. They are the ditch carp of democracy.

It still works, and that's what matters.
This is actualy a quote from the book "Don't vote it just encourages the bastards" which has been missquoted. P J O'Rourke is refering to politians in this quote, not just the charming leftists he alluded to earlier, although it may be tempting for the rightwing comentators to to hijack the cleverly worded rant, they must take the greater share of the blame for the mess that we find ourselves in, just as they took the greater share of the profits.
When you read beneath the eloquence, this man makes absolute sense!! He's absolutely right!

I do know that Muhammed raped an 8 yr old girl.... Wait that was his wife....So he was just a pedophile... I also know that TONS of horrible things have been done in his name. Don't get me wrong it's like that with every great "Deity" or "Prophet" People constantly taking each others lives for their god because they are right.
But I would say that Muhammed was NOT a prophet he may have been in it for a profit but that's all I'm going to admit too. Oh and he also wanted to touch children. I'm glad your profit is dead and I can tell you something else, if an afterlife actually does exist, he is not in the "good place"

Oh, I love O'Rourke--one of my favorites by him is an essay in the anthology 'Inside Israel.' There's a part where he talks about drinking beer; intellectually speaking, I love that guy. He's an amazing writer. Good find and thanks for sharing this.
