Reps. King, Rush debate Zimmerman verdict. Debate? It appears that a one-sided conversation is now a debate. It’s pretty sad that Rush is in Congress. He seems a sorry excuse even for a Democrat.

  • The Travon Martin /Zimmerman "Stand your Ground" drama is just that, drama !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't live 35 minutes from Sanford , and honestly it's really not talk about in the area , i haven't seen 1 sign ,or t-shirt or heard any talk on the subject out in public.
    There was a shooting death of a white male in his earlier 20's a with in the past to years that caught no media circus ,It was in Winter Haven Florida ,
    If you want to see what is an actual case of the use of stand your ground to justify it ,and take the time to read the whole statue ,
    I mean who hires a lawyer and file copyrights on phrase's to keep anyone else from using them , they selling T-shirts, posters etc, They started the process not long after his death ,
    The simple fact that he was black , and they call him a child , everyone ,if your honest about it knows at that 17 you think your grown and are cocky and know it all,
    As for people not coming here or buying Florida juice , don't and why your at it do your self a favor and research prior cases ,
    I am not willing to give up my rights or the rights of anyone else , If people don't like the laws in Florida don't move here , worry about the laws in the state you live ,

    • Well good for him to step up and good for the people he helped. I have never heard about him being a hero before, maybe I missed it. He made a serious mistake, but it doesn't mean he can't do good things in his life from this point on.

  • There are several things that are wrong with this issue. However now that the trial is over I have one really important gripe with this case.

    Before the trial was over, people were elated that it was a jury of all women and that some of them have kids. Why? Because women are emotional and hysterical and especially the Mothers will sway the others into getting Zimmerman for something. That right there was a disgusting and seriously misogynistic stance. The liberal media had no problem with essentially saying that women are emotional creatures and hysterical in their zeal to protect the kids so he would be found guilty.

    Okay... gross... let's move on.

    After the trial: The women were methodological and followers of the law as it stands. Even if they wanted to do something because they may have felt that Zimmerman by his following initiated Martin's anger which escalated the issue (which is a legitimate thought or feeling), as they reviewed the law they found that he wasn't guilty. As they reviewed the prosecution's case they found the prosecution lacking of evidence for the charges they put forward even after they added the manslaughter charge at the last minute. So they weren't hysterical, they were serene they weren't emotional they were sober and took their time to follow the rule of the law...

    The same people are now saying that they are stupid that they made a bad decision that they didn't listen to their emotion and that there should have been a man there to sway these women and to get them to do what they think is the right thing. War on women! Seriously? But then the alternate male that was dismissed essentially said that he would have come forward to the same conclusion based on all the evidence. So is he stupid? Well I haven't heard anyone stating that.

    This is absolutely disgusting to me that first they believe that women are hysterical and emotional creatures and when the women proved not to be that, they are angry that they weren't and instead were intelligent people who took their time to do what they did according to the law.

    If you are mad at the verdict be mad at the law and the prosecution not the jurors. Liberals are incredibly misogynistic and disgusting, however there were some Conservatives who also assume that the women will be soft and emotional in the beginning. This is gross.

      She is the poster child for the "before the trial" women you describe.
      We had a big argument the other night, because she wants Zimmerman in jail. Why? Because her son was a troublemaker like Trayvon, and she thinks that if it were him, instead of Trayvon in this confrontation, her son would be dead.
      My brother-in-law is not happy about her wanting to join the Sharpton "100 city" protests. BTW, her son isn't his kid.

      • However it is much more about people's ASSumptions about the women jury before the verdict and then their irrationality and stupidity after the verdict. It is misogyny and no one in the media has called these commentators on that. It is disgusting.

      • My nephew was a trouble maker in his teens and early twenties. Now he's a trouble making adult, spending his life in and out of prison in Idaho. I wish he'd run up against his own Zimmerman, save the taxpayers a lot of money.

    The unemployment rate for blacks is at an all-time high and the black teenage unemployment rate is epic. Yet when a group like the Black American Leadership Alliance stands up against the current Senate immigration legislation (S.744) articulating its adverse affects on the black community in letters to the Senate and Congressional Black Caucus and by holding a rally in DC this past week, what do you hear?

  • Unfriggin' believable. I thought the clowns in my state send a couple of dimbulbs to Washingtoon but this Rush guy takes the prize. We need a voter intelligence requirement badly since a candidate intelligence test would never work.

          • We had three here last year, Albuquerque, Farmington and Santa Fe, but I don't know much about them. I'm more into the trappers rendevous and wild west stuff, something to do with guns and powder smoke I guess.

          • I'm pretty sure those are each only a single weekend. I do about 25 weekends a year here. If I got accepted into the three big ones in Texas, that would be 24 weekends a year just in those three events, plus all the little stuff I could pick up in between. I don't make a lot of money per weekend, so I need a lot of weekends.

    • I watched this also, and my first thought was, did this man have a stroke. Very incoherent and stupid, ignorant of facts, combative, talking in circles. I've come to the conclusion that the black community deserves what they get by voting these fools into office (I take that back-nobody deserves people like this). How did so many of these so-called "leaders and representatives" pass a high school GED program, or college for that matter.
