Robert De Niro to star as Bernie Madoff. Sure Bernie was sort of a d-bag. But come on Bobbie De Niro, Madoff hasn’t taken dollar one from us. So grow a pair and do a movie about the real ponzi scheme that is going to drag this country down . . . you know, social security.

DeNiro is the perfect guy for this movie. His acting skill limits him to one dimensional characters. This will be exactly how Bernie will be portrayed, a sneering, self-centered egomaniacal sociopath. Just like every other role DeNiro played in the past.
It's like a Michael Corleone squeezing Hyman Roth to make a buck. Go for it.
