OK, I give him credit for doing something for charity, although I hate the method of a rich person getting the regular folks to put up the money to watch a rich person do something entertaining, while not spending a dime of their own money, I have to question his math.
They raised $1 million and that's going to help 40,000 people get their eyesight back?
If I were blind, and it only cost $25 to get my sight back, I don't think I would need anyone to help me get up the cash!
1,000,000 / 40,000 = 25.
Most of the money goes to clinics in Africa, where most people don't see $25 bucks in a year. That's one of the reasons I pick charities very carefully. If it ain't helping Americans, they don't need my money.
The stoic sh*t doesn't work. People want to feel they can "drink beer" with the President or whatever. All in all, it is important to have a personality. Sometimes just having a great resume and a charitable heart is not good enough for the idiots, you also have to be "cool" and personable... fine whatever, give them ALL of that AND have the eye of the tiger and the heart of a killer because that is something Mr. Romney truly lacked.

The rub is that Mittens likely had but one objective in 2012... lose and make it look like he was trying to win.
I feel that he just lost steam and got dispirited. Don't know why... he spent a hell of a lot of money to loose on purpose.

Politically, Romney has a glass chin and Holyfield's lucky his opponent didn't talk his ear off.
I've concluded the same- he nor the GOP had any intention of beating Obama... just put up the pretense of a candidacy... and he nearly slipped up with that first debate where he mopped the floor with King Putts.
