  • Complaining about Ryan not wearing a tie is on par with the black women that bitched about Gabby not "doing" her hair in a more black cultural way. She gottwo gold medals at 16. Who cares about her hair? Same with Ryan. Roment was informally dressed in shirtsleeves with a tie, Ryan wore a jacket, whioc could be perceived as MORE appropriate that Romney with his tu\ie. THis is why we can't get anything done in this country. Our focus is waaaaay off the mark!

    • That Girl is a sweetheart! I don't do a lot of TV, made a point to catch a lot of highlights and print, glad I missed what you're talking about. All I can do is have pity and shake my head at people whose lives are so shallow and petty. Can't even share the joy and pride in somebody else's outstanding achievement, sad.

  • Obama hates Ryan...I hope Obama's blood pressure went up about 25 percent when he found out......And I can't wait to see Ryan take Biteme apart. The vice presidential debate is going to be "A big F*cking Deal" to quote the moron now in that position....

    • Obama's team thinks the choice is a mistake. That's what makes this so interesting. With Ryan in the mix, there couldn't be starker ideological differences. Can't wait for debates

      • That's what's so intriguing about the pick. The conversation has to be elevated from Harry Reid-style McCarthyism to a substantive debate about whether we want to permit the current administration to manage our decline or one that will reverse the course that we have been on for some time now.

  • Media response to VP Pick:

Republican VP Pick: Much pundit hand-wringing over strengths & weaknesses. Are they qualified? Have we (the media) fully vetted them, like we're really important in this process? We must investigate EVERY aspect of their entire life for anything - and I mean - ANYTHING even slightly controversial. It's what we do.

    Democrat VP Pick: Meh.

    • I'm waiting to see if they're going to try and hit him with the "no foreign policy experience " charge. Compared to O he is a foreign diplomat.

  • With a good dose of impossibly good fortune, Mitt will switch seats with Paul Ryan to let him run for president, since he's actually a Liberty loving American and has the ability to talk circles around burok, while busily balancing the budget with his other hand. Ryan is a smart guy and the girls love his Irish boy good looks, even with the ears. On the other hand, Wisconsin needs Ryan and we really could benefit from his remaining in congress.

  • I'll be honest, I will be sleeping when this announcement happens (if it happens) and I live on the east coast. I'm a busy guy, I have a lot going on right now (most of which is good) and I don't care at the moment who Mittens picks. I'm so underwhelmed by this election.

Short of Mitt picking Jenna Jameson...

I'm sure it will be politics as usual.

Maybe he picks A, maybe he picks B, if he wins it's because he's not Obama.

Also, a Saturday morning in August is the time you choose to announce your VP? No one cares on a Saturday morning in August. A Saturday morning in August is a time to enjoy life, at least while we are still a free people. I mean it's Saturday, in the morning, in August, it's a beautiful thing.

  • NBC already broke the story: it's Ryan. Announcement might be in VA but it's aboard the USS Wisconsin... Ryan's home state.

  • Quit yer bitchin! That's 3am in Hawaii. Hubby thinks that since the announcement is in Va that it could be McDonnell.
