MOSCOW (Reuters) - A famous Russian TV anchor has been taken off the air for making an obscene gesture after mentioning U.S. President Barack Obama in a live newscast, the channel said on Thursday.
Can we get her hired on at Fox? I'd like to see her wearing a short skirt.
That is what I call "Fair and Balanced".
Obama probably tried to tax the Russians-
I started getting tendinitis in my hand because of how many times a day I "salute" the President.
Today, I have a new hero....
Tho' akshully, watching it again and again, it seems more like she's giving the cue for the video clip.
Translation:
"Dmitri Medvedev today became the [chairman] of the organization 'Asian-Pacificocean Economic [Cooperation]'. Previously, this post was held by American president Barack Obama. At the press conference on the results of the forum which was held in the capital city of Hawaii, Honolulu, Medvedev said, among other things, [?] cooperation with America regarding missle defense. So far, talks between Russia and America [have/are] not ..."
words in brackets are the basic gist of her statement. They may not be the exact word.
Pacific Ocean becomes one word when it is used as an adjective.
[?] - I don't know what she says. It sounds like "Ya", which is the backwards "R", which means "I" (fist person pronoun). But that does not make sense in the context. Though listenting again, she might be saying (quoting Medvedev) "I am cooperating with America on the issue of missle defense, but thus far ..."
The "HOBOCTN" (backwards N) means "news" (Novosti), and the two words in the bar are "results (of) summit" (prepositions aren't used in Russian - they are understood by the ending placed on the object of the prepsition)
This is simple really. It is a involuntary reflex reaction. If you notice, she says something understandable, "Barack Obama" and then the involuntary reflex action happened. I have exactly the same affliction. I say, "Barack Obama" and up jumps my hand with the middle finger raised. I can't understand how it happens, but it is not something I am worried about.
Barry probably took it thinking she wants to set him up with a big russian bear next vacation he takes there.
Hey now, there might be some cultural differences here we're not getting. I for one would like the whole picture, so I'm going to Youtube and typing in: Russians giving other Russians the middle finger and see what happens.....
There is no significance whatsoever for the middle finger salute in Russian culture. With American culture going worldwide nowadays, I can assure you that it means exactly the same there as here.
way to understand a joke......
Hey, gimme a break. I spent 10 hours in front of a computer screen topped off with 2 triple martinis by the time I posted that.
a lil alcohol should have helped you to understand the joke :) at least booze makes me all giddy like a child, not sure if its the same for everyone. hah
