Earlier this year, Multnomah County leaders and Sheriff Mike Reese wrote a letter to the community saying, “The Sheriff’s Office does not hold people in county jails on ICE detainers or conduct any immigration enforcement actions.”

Time to recall the sheriff and put someone in who will enforce the all the laws. Just not the ones they deem pc bull shit
The problem with cutting off federal funding to sanctuary cities is that the proposed cuts all come from law enforcement grants, and in Progressive paradises like Portland they would like to defund the police anyway. A more meaningful threat would be to cut off their Section 8 housing vouchers or all their school funding.
Maybe that would be a good idea. Let them see how well things work out without cops to save their asses.
Whatever happened to "three strikes you're out"? After being deported once, if you come back into this country illegally any crime should carry the death penalty. And we can bill Mexico for the bullet.
