I've been giving this issue a re-think for a couple of reasons. Perhaps we on the right should at least get behind Fluke's contraception issue:
1) Paying for contraception allows us a tangible part in limiting the size of the left's voting bloc. Seriously, whether knowing or unknowingly, they're begging us to do so. I think we should oblige them.
2) It would be cheaper to manage left-wing population control than to endure the assured deficits their future politicians would run up on other social spending.
The left-wing death culture doesn't understand how their embrace of abortion has murdered 50,000,000 likely voters.
Left-wing birth control is unnecessary. It happens naturally. As does Muslim birth control. I'm reading David GOldman's "How Civilizations Die" right now, and it's an eye opener. The western world is dying for lack of reproduction, except for America where we still have sufficient Christians who believe life and progeny are good things. But even worse than the state of the western world is the state of the Muslim world. Their birthrate is plummeting at rates never before seen. In thirty or forty years the Middle East will be nothing but old people too poor to feed themselves.
My response so far as I read the book is: "God works in mysterious ways."

I read a published study from some cat at Princeton asserting that the American right is out-birthing the left but I hadn't heard this about birth rates in the Middle East. I thought I've read, though, that birth rates among European moslems is staggering - especially in comparison to Caucasians. Strange.
In the spirit of full disclosure: I am not pro-life. I am anti-abortion; however, why not give the left what it wants. I don't expect them to know any better and if it is a limited number of voters they want, then let's encourage them. Their ranks remain depleted while they populate heaven, so far as my beliefs go.

The only European Muslims who do not have plummeting birthrates are the Pakistanis in the UK. I'm less than halfway through the book, so I'm not sure why that is. It might be because Pakistanis are so poorly educated, and education seems to kill Muslim desire to reproduce. Ignorance is bliss when you're a Muslim. (That's from me, not the book.) The information is indeed surprising, but I've heard some of this before. Iran, for instance, is full of drug addicts, young adults who cannot find employment so they turn to prostitution, and people who have married their cousins. Consanguinity is a big problem in the Muslim world. Birth defects among Pakistani immigrants in the UK are astronomical.
Turkey is beside itself with worry, because the Kurds they hate and battle are breeding like rabbits while the Turks are barely reproducing at all. In a few decades the Turks will be outnumbered in Turkey.

Actually Alien, I have been a firm believer in NORPLANT implants for welfare wombats for years, but the idea does not seem to be accepted very well by those on the left.

The offer of free Norplant for Baltimore school girls almost started another round of riots! The idiot's battle cry was "Genocide" and they universally rejected the free offer of something that would help them break the cycle of generational poverty. I guess even idiots have a fear of change - unless it comes from some fake messiah.
I worry about mandatory birth control, because I wonder if a country then gets on the slippery slope to becoming China where a one child rule is strictly enforced. Believe me, I understand the concerns being expressed. Many people shouldn't have children. They are poor parents and their children end up abused and even into criminality. I confess I don't have the answer. I don't know how these people can be kept from reproducing without the potential of the state becoming Big Brother.
And the Norplant should be mandatory.
As soon as she appeared in front of the "hearing" anyone could tell she was a plant and an operative. Now that some have started to look into her past actions and activities, they will see what she truly is. Nothing more than a whining give me now what I want liberal.

He should have not referred to her in a despective manner. All he had to do is ask the same question MDLion did above and others. Ask for people to investigate her and why she did what she did. Overall he overreacted and acted unprofessionally, he should have known better indeed.
I agree.. you all have made interesting & credible cases about how contraception subsidy can become a lifestyle subsidy, without having to impugn any given woman's character. Bereft of the name-calling, Rush might've been a lot more effective
An honest media would say to and ask Miss Fluke: You seem to have a background of being an abortion/homosexual rights/feminist activist. Are you an activist, Miss Fluke?
No. She is portrayed as an average struggling law student, though she has a scholarship.
A couple of more questions come to mind. Miss Fluke, did you specifically enter Georgetown in an effort to get a religious school to pay for things against their teachings? Miss Fluke, are you trying to be the Rosa Parks of forcing religious schools to pay for things they find morally objectionable?
These questions are Journalism 101. Laura Ingraham wants to interview Miss Fluke, but there's no way she's going into an atmosphere in which she will be asked tough, but fair questions.
I have to wonder why Georgetown didn't do a background search before accepting her.
I'm sure the Dumbs will make sure she has a scholarship for life so that she can continue her activisim on college campuses all over the country.

Once the Progressives succeed in making us all guilty of all kinds of sins they believe they will succeed in making us all equally guilty before G-d and therefore no one gets judged worse than anyone else. That is how I as a Christian believe is what is happening here on the spiritual realm. On the political realm it is in essence the same thing. Equalizing the masses is possible only when the masses all partake in all the ill behaviors of others, even if the masses most be forced to partake. A society that is accepting and non-(properly) judgemental of the behaviors of others is a society that loses moral fiber, a society that loses moral fiber is weak and susceptible to the attacks from outside and from within that will suredly destroy any strong bases it had before. It is amazing how evil people are and how many destroyers are out there. It is also amazing that they have taken such roots in our societies while we were getting fat and were asleep at the wheel.
"Gender reassignment" love that phrase, it's so bland and neutral, as simple as changing seats on an airplane. Free contraception, free abortion and now free "gender reassignment". I wonder what other freebies are lurking in Obama Care.

Reading the transcript of her "testimony," it's amazing how many lies Sandra Fluke fit into her statement to those Democrats who held the fake "hearing." The woman has talent. She could be president someday.
