School asks kids to trade in toy guns for a bicycle. “The purpose of the trade-in is to stop children from playing with toy guns, which may make them more likely to commit violence with real guns, said Strobridge Elementary principal Chris Hill.” Better get them to trade in their video games, televisions, computers and (sadly, in many cases) their families as well. Or how about just putting them in a sealed plastic bag until they’re old enough to vote Democrat?

I'm just an engineer but I would think that the violent computer games would be far worse than a toy gun.
There is just no explaining the touchy feel good of the left. I wonder how many of them have a working gun in their homes. One of my closest friends has a brother that feels no one including sworn officers should have a gun, yet he screams profanity when he is asked when he is going to give up all of his guns. What a hypocrite. His own son told him he was full of it, then laid out his brand new Sig Sauer for all to see.
As for the give away, now that these "educators" have hurt the self esteem of some of the students, what are they going to do to restore it?
The "touchy feel good" is pure unadulterated sheep manipulation- it's a meta-role played by the left to reinforce the premise that they give the slightest damn about a population that their policies suggest they actually regard with a great measure of contempt.
The toy gun trade off is just brainwash for what are seen as baby sheep- lambs- intent to deeply impress the notion that guns are evil things (baa-a-a-aaad!!) that cause crime. We're watching the methodical engineering of a generation that will overwhelmingly support the repeal of the second amendment. That's a good article, but you have to remember that drugs DO work for some people, when they are used properly and monitored properly. Many cases of depression or anxiety are caused by the neurons not firing properly through the synapses, causing the neurotransmitters to end the chain by inputting back into itself, ending the chain, so to speak.
Medications CAN help this situation. It is a physical reaction, and in many people, this damaged reaction causes mental disorders. If medication is going to work, it generally works quickly and the patient normally will have no major side effects.
The PROBLEM is when the medication is just thrown at a kid and there is little or no monitoring. Parents may not see the turmoil that is going on under their child's skin, and are just happy that Johnny is quiet. And Johnny - not having anywhere near the life experience, PLUS having raging hormones, not to mention a not-fully developed brain - does not realize that his thoughts are that abnormal. Get two of these kids together, and you have real problems.
Get an INTERNET involved, and these kids will find each other. None of them realize that they are thinking wrong, and having dozens, hundreds or even thousands of people in the same situation as them, makes them think they are actually the sane ones.
So, maybe we really DO need to make the doctors partially liable. or maybe we should require that the pharmaceutical companies use some of their obscene profits to make sure that anyone prescribing their product has had (and PASSED) a full training on the effects of this medication? Or something? Because there is a problem that we can all see, but no one knows how to fix it. And banning the drugs is not the answer. They help millions of people. Only a handful go nuts.

We do know, in fact, that these drugs perturb how these chemical messengers work in the brain. The real paradigm is: People diagnosed with mental disorders have no known problem with their neurotransmitter systems; and these drugs perturb the normal function of neurotransmitters.
How exactly are they planning to pay for the bikes they want to trade for the toy guns? The answer is - they aren't going to pay for them, the taxpayers are. Also, if they're trading bikes for toy guns, will they trade skateboards for pop tarts, or roller blades for pencils? What will they trade for fingers?
