Q: The kids probably are "as dumb as hell" but whose fault is that?
A: The parents, the teachers, the education bureaucrats and a culture that doesn't value education.
Time to get rid of the Department of Education, the incompetent teachers and dismantle public education. But the negligent parents and the toxic pop culture are a tougher proposition and can be fixed only after a long struggle.
I'm surprised the list of answers she gave them was correct.

I'm pretty sure that my freshman history teacher, Miss Beasley, would have been wonderful.
Now folks are beginning to see why home schooling is on the rise. The NEA has put so many barriers in place it is nearly impossible to remove the inept teachers.

Unfortunately, the teacher was probably correct that the students are "dumb as hell". What do we expect when we have teachers like that?
The problem is not really the teachers. It is the administrators and the Federal, state and local governments that demand high scores or will close the school, not factoring in the fact that the kids ae sometime homeless, living with abuse, or with parents that in general don't give a damn. No school supplies, owhere to do homework, much less parents who will look it over and assure it was done and done correctly. THe teachers can't do EVERYTHING.
No school supplies because the budget went to teacher's pensions.
Just another reason to get rid of the Dept. of Ed. The entire educational industrial complex needs to be ripped down & replaced with something that works.
Good thing this was in Georgia and not, say, New York or California. Otherwise she'd be on paid administrative leave for the next ten years while the unions fought to keep this idiot teaching.
