I just recieved my WA State pistol license in the mail this week. Piece of cake. No training requirements on the application (although I told the clerk I've had extensive handgun training at Front Sight in NV). Kalif. requires 16 hours and a total cost to procure one at around $250 for Sacramento county. WA state about $53. I give props to Sheriff Scott Jones for understanding the 2A.
My wife just got hers in Sacramento County...About 250 but she took a class from a young lady who is a parole officer and has a CCW class. They shot over 600 rounds in two days. Good training. Now we both carry concealed. I feel much better with her having one. Next step the Utah/Nevada one for her so she can carry concealed in most other states. For some strange (liberal) reason a lot of states HATE Kalifornia and won't honor their CCW.
The first time I went to Front Sight in NV I took a 4 day defensive handgun course and a 1 day CCW course, which gave me a NV, Utah, and Florida non-res. licenses. I did my 2 day Kalif. class in Rancho Cordova and only shot 25 rds per pistol. We shot 600 at the 4 day course. Paid $1500 for the NV course, but came home with a Springfield XD40 with the deal so I think I did alright. Tupperware gun that it is, it shoots nice and accurate. I used my Utah license here in WA while waiting for my WA state permit. I think everyone who wants to carry should absolutely take some professional training. It can prep you well.
They don't get it, remember that a federal judge in Kalifornia of all places, ruled that there is NO need to prove a specific reason to get a CCW. So Kalifornia is now handing them out faster. The state tried to challenge the judge and he said there was NO grounds and basically sent the Attorney General scurrying out of his courtroom. D.C has a city council that is a bunch of liberal retards just like the "big boys and girls" just down the street. They think they know better and can not follow the law. I hope they are found in contempt and jailed and fined a lot of money, cause those are the only things liberals understand, take their money and watch them scream.
I wouldn't live anywhere where the 2nd Amendment is restricted from those that it was intended for.
