Actress (or “actor” as the Hollywood non-sexists now prefer) Sigourney Weaver says James Cameron lost the Academy Award because “he doesn’t have breasts.”

The 60-year-old, who starred in the film, also said that Avatar missed out because it is unfashionable to give the Oscar to big Hollywood blockbusters.
In an interview with a Brazilian news website, Weaver said the Academy’s choice of best director was motivated by the fact that a woman had never won the prize.
“Jim didn’t have breasts, and I think that was the reason,” Weaver told Folha Online. “He should have taken home that Oscar,” she said.
We say this is preposterous. If Hollywood handed out Oscars based on breasts, Teddy Kennedy would have won one long before Al Gore.

Hurt Locker was by far the better movie.
We need more soldier movies where the soldier is the hero like he is in real life, like my friend the vertical engineer who is in country (afghanistan) right now, or the awesome dad who is on his way back to Afghanistan tomorrow, a lifetime soldier who is now working in a civilian job over there. Asked him if it was worth it and his reply was an emphatic " Of Course it is" and then we went on to have a great conversation.
Except for the special effects, this movie was mediocre at best. There was nothing orginal in the plotline that's for sure. It certainly was undeserving of any oscar except special effects.

I'm also pissed about the post-Oscar whining. The use of the term "snubbed" is patently ridiculous. The very idea that a film is so obviously excellent that it deserves the award, and if it's passed over it can be referred to as "snubbed" - that's absurd.
These f*ckers make 20 million bucks for living out their life-long fantasy, and then they want a statuette to boot. F*ck you, millionaire actor, f*ck you!
As for the movie? It may have been brightly colored, but it was still paint-by-numbers. It was childish, ham-handed propaganda. It was pushing a point that's so demonstrably false that it HAD to be done in he realm of fiction with the deck stacked.
I'm gonna go put "Amadeus" in and commiserate with Salieri, wondering why infantile, crass-holes get all the opportunity.
I think the reason he didn't win was because the movie actually sucked.....

Girl on Girl Action featuring Weaver. No Oscar for that one either. Still a great sequel.
While I liked the action in the eco-nut hype piece that was Avatar, the director lacked some BALLS for sure. He bowed and towed the line for the loony Left and the 'humans hurt the planet' scare tactic cult message that gets pumped out too often nowadays. So by that logic a lack of balls, and not breast size, was the damning reason for not getting the golden trophy. Make a film that does not conform to the 'group think message of the moment' and then see if its worthy of more rewards. Oh, the billions it made at the box office and on DVD/BD sales are the true rewards? Fair enough...
Kind of like how Al Gore just is in this AGW scam for the moolah? Gee, that is not his real aim eh?
That and the fact that a $500 million cartoon (which is what Avatar was with all its CGI) that looked great but was more or less a long episode of Captain Planet did not deserve top honors.
