Speaking of pronouns at Harvard… the Harvard Crimson felt obligated to apologize for using one. The silly cads used the pronoun “she” to refer to the new director of bisexual, gay, lesbian, transgender, and queer student life. But she doesn’t like being called “she.” She prefers not to be referred to by a gendered pronoun.

When I look at that article, I get an advertisement alongside which reads, "INFINITY 2 HAS ARRIVED". For some unfathomable reason, I first read it as "INSANITY 2 HAS ARRIVED".
To be polite, this entity is a self made "it", but it must be said quietly.
Oh SSSsh--it!!!
I suspect that the acronym BGLTQ will grow in length as assorted sexual minorites clamor to be added to the list of recognized oppressed sexual minorities entitled to special recognition and treatment by Harvard.
"P" = Pansexual (or maybe "Pedophile")
"U" = Undecided
"F" = Fetish (also "Fab-Glitter")
"B" = Bondage
...etc.
So Harvard undergrads are incurring hundreds of thousand of dollars of debt so they can debate the use (and mis-use) of pronouns and pay the six figure salaries of useless bureaucrats who don't like being called "she".
Welcome to Obamaland.
You forgot Lolicons and pedophiles.
I think Lolicon is a subdivision of pedophile.
Uh, was it an accident that your first two letters spell PU?
So many insane liberal pinheads, so little time and bullets!
So many insane liberal pinheads, so little time and bullets!
I can't help with the time, but I WILL pitch in for the bullets.
Depending on the caliber, I have a pretty good supply. I can donate some.
"It?"
Sigh. I see BGLT is out now. Enter BGLTQ. Thanks for the update IHTM. I might have appeared ignorant in conversation by not knowing this and thought a sandwich was being discussed.
"Sigh. I see BGLT is out now. Enter BGLTQ..."
Nope, you're still missing one letter. I did a column on a bogus hate crime a while back (http://www.bogushatecrimes.com/101124_WhoPeedOnTheGayBooks.php) and learned that to be complete, the acronym is LGBTQI. The "I" stands for Intersex, which is people who are part male and part female. Pretty soon, the acronym will be so long they'll need wider buildings for their student centers.
oops! you missed three...You left off the "A" for asexual.."P" for pansexual and they now include "S" for straight.
SO, it's now
LGBTQAIPS
Ok then what the heck is a pansexual? On second thought I don't really want to know.
Why don't we just call them "Alphabets" and get it over with?
sounds like a plan, Poppa.
Cripes, they seem to be adding letters faster than I can type them. I don't understand the "S" at all. If they add straight people to the club, isn't that everybody now? So do we need special-interest funding for a group that includes everybody?
Or to put it another way, since when do college kids need a special building to encourage their interest in sex?
They want to include everyone...total acceptance. Oh and of course I had to look it up...pansexual likes everyone male, female, transgendered, genderbenders, intersexed or what-ever. No it isn't the same as bi because bi implies males and females only and not those who where born as one and changed to the other or intersexed persons or those who just dress like the opposite gender. To which I say...Alrighty then.
See what happens when you put a nice girl into a red dress?
LOL
She's still a nice girl, just a bit "friskier"! YUM!!!
Wait till I put on the black dress...
Alright, that's a tough one to argue with.
Doesn't matter. I like the way you think. That's sexy!
lol...You don't know what I look like so it is all in your own mind, Poppa. You are doing it to yourself. Silly man.
You're killing me!
Nope, I'm wearing scrubs ;)
So right now you're not wearing a dress?
Clearly, you are the Obi Wan Kenobi of sexual deviancy.
Oh, now I wouldn't say that.
Yoda then?
Princess Leia.
nobody's...they don't exist.
I'm still working on the whole buns-glued-to-the-sides-of-your-head thing. I'm wondering whose buns?
I'll leave that to your imagination.
But I'll bet you have some SWEET buns! ;-)
No, I don't have honey buns glued to the sides of my head.
Uhm, C3PO, maybe? I just translate.
no
Translate? Is that what the "T" stands for?
They seem to be chasing their tails.
Well they are chasing tails...just not necissarily their own.
Crap, here I was trying to sound like an expert, and guess what: I missed a letter, too. It's supposed to be LGBTQIA, for Lesbian Gay Bi-sexual Transcendental... er, I mean Transexual Queer Intersex and finally, Asexual. (For the people who apparently just don't give a shit about sex at all.) This isn't a joke. There really is a LGBTQIA center at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington: http://townhall.com/columnists/mikeadams/2012/07/09/our_new_smlxl_center
They are ALL drama queens and want unending attention.
I wonder if those "A"s make as big a fuss as the others? "I AM AAAAA---SEXUAL!! Get Over it Bitches!!" (with a headbob and a snap)
Why do people think that anyone cares what goes on (or doesn't) in their bedrooms? I am really baffled!
Mustn't leave anyone out.
I'll bet their mixers are a gas.

The last letter should be H, for hermaphrodite.
Personally, I call them insane. That's gender neutral.
Homonecrobestopedopheliac?
Do we even want to know what that means?
No, but if you take it a syllable at a time, it becomes clear. I'm sure they'll be the next group screaming for their rights.
Flash, I'm ashamed to admit that I had that figured out without the clue.
Well doggies. Would "non-hetero" be considered hateful? NH would be a lot easier to keep a handle on IMO.
"and queer student life"
When did queer get added to the BGLT (if you remove the G you have a delicious sandwich) thing? What exactly is a queer now-a-days anyway? I thought it was a disparaging word against the BGLT's. I honestly don't know what a "queer student life" means. I'm perplexed.
I just as confused as you are Joe. "Queer" used to be a term of disparagement, but in this era of political correctness we had better learn the updated list of the recoginzed sexual minorities otherwise we're all in for prolonged sessions of sensitivity training and possible lawsuits..
When I was in the Air Force, when you needed a sensitivity adjustment, you got sent to "Social Actions", that was the second worst thing they could do to you, right after putting you in jail!
Queer is anyone who is part of the lifestyle, but doesn't exactly fit into any of the other designations. Like maybe a cross dresser or something. I still can't figure out why they have to have a director.
These people live in a fantasy world. And not a nice rainbows, fairy and unicorn one, but a dark, evil Tim Burton one. There is something wrong with their brains - psychological disorders that causes them to act like spoiled, nasty brats. Rotten children who stamp their feet and call others names if if they dare question them or won't play along.
So this "thing", which was born whatever gender (I honestly don't care enough to go look up which way it was born, and which way it pretends to be), insists that they are something they are not, and by golly - WE must play along or there is something wrong with US? that's ridiculous.
I actually have a friend who is transgender. He was born a she (see what I did there?) and has been a friend of my husband's since they were young (they are European, what can I say?). Anyway, he has chosen to have some surgery, and has chosen to live life as a "man". It's not my problem, and I don't even think about it. I am sad for him, because I know a bit of the "back story" but he doesn't dwell on it. He doesn't DEMAND that people accept him. He presents himself as he is, and if others do not like it, they are free to walk away.
These people are troubled. I believe in some cases they allow deeper problems to be channeled into thoughts and actions that are not really the problem, but that's not for me to decide. My point is that my friend has made decisions that HE will live with, and the rest of us are free to choose how to respond to him. Because he is quiet and dignified about his choice he has never yet met anyone (that I am aware of) who has done anything besides respect him, even if they don't like the path he chose.
Compare that to this impetuous child. Whining because the big bad meanie has called IT what IT is, and IT doesn't like that! Wahh wah waaaaaaaah. But IT WON it's little temper tantrum! Yay! Now what? IT's going to have to drum up some new drama to get the attention IT craves. IT has already guilt-tripped the authority figures into getting ITs way... maybe IT should demand that everyone bow and crawl before IT and call IT the queen... errrrrr king... errrrrrr Joker?
Oh, and I wonder how IT filled out IT's employment and insurance papers? I doubt that the government and the corporations will be quite as lenient as IT's stupid PC employer.
These people live in a fantasy world. And not a nice rainbows, fairy and unicorn one, but a dark, evil Tim Burton one.
That's because when they were in high school and college they spent their time playing Dungeons and Dragons instead of going on dates. Their entire frame of reference contains 3 headed Hydras, Orcs, Ogres, and evil wizards.
I met a young lady recently, hangs out with a bunch of us that get together once a week for dinner and conversation. I had seen her a couple times before, thought she was attractive, but not outrageously so. A couple weeks ago, she showed up with her hair done, makeup, wearing a nice dress and heels, which contrasted with her usual jeans, t-shirt, and tennies.
Being the polite bastard that I am, I complimented her on how nice she looked. She seemed surprised that I would do that, but cheerfully accepted the compliment. Later on, she asked me if I really thought she was pretty. I said yes, I don'd give insincere compliments. It's bad form.
Then she handed me her ID card from high school. I thought it was odd that somebody 26 years old would be carrying that around, but didn't think too much of it. In the picture on the card, she had short, badly styled hair, glasses, and looked rather dorky. I handed it back, and said that she had improved quite a bit since high school. She handed it back, said look at the name. Dustin.
She was afraid that I was going to get upset. But why would I? What does her sexuality have to do with me? And she's not one of those pushy ones that insists that everyone bow down to her transgendered wonderfulness. And I still think she's pretty.
Weird thing is, she is changing from a boy to a girl, and at the same time, changing from heterosexual to lesbian. Oh well, to each his,..er,..her,...own.
So this person likes girls? And decided it was good strategy for landing one to become one? Cripes, the poor kid simply needed a father to teach him some moves. He didn't need to lop off his...
I recently moved back to West Michigan after about a decade. Before I left, a local priest had announced from the pulpit one Sunday that he was a "non-practicing gay man" to the immense puzzlement of the congregation. They were puzzled for two reasons: one, what the hell does "non-practicing gay man" mean? If you're not having sex, how can you call yourself gay? Isn't that like wondering if the tree falling in the forest with noone around makes a noise?
And second they were puzzled because they didn't care, they didn't want to know, and they couldn't understand why he was telling them stuff they didn't need to know. The Catholic hierarchy was apparently not amused. I asked some friends recently what ever happened to that priest and they told me he was fired almost immediately.
The only problem I have with gay people is they want to make their sex life my business.
Exactly. If you don't want my tak on your choice of sexuality, don't bring it up. I still believe that some things are private, and what you do in your bedroom, as well as whom you do it with is not my business. I have no desire to know the details of your sex life, even if its old fashioned heterosexuality. I DON"T WANT OR CARE TO KNOW!
Yes, this person is seriously confused. Hasn't had the lopitoffamy yet, but is in the preparation stages. I don't try to understand. That's not my job. If a person is fun to hang out with, I have fun hanging out with them. Their sexuality doesn't mean much to me.
She-It!
Shiite?
She-eeesh.
The apology The Crimson SHOULD have issued: "Is 'Bitch' Better?". What an insufferable twatwaffle "this" must be.
That's not gender neutral either Geoff.
Sure it is. We call guys bitch all the time.
