• This sounds like Sodom and Gomorrah to me.

• It is one of my favorite books. Just reread it a year or so ago. If they get it right, it will be worth the time. We are not decanting babies yet but inner city schools sure are creating plenty of Deltas and Epsilons.

  • That is so true. It breaks my heart to think of all the people being conditioned (could the case be made that some popular music is a form of hypnopaedia?) to never be prepared to take all the good things their intelligence and ambition could otherwise have provided.

• It's obvious that it will be slanted to make this a plan for the future, and all the wastoids that watch the Simpsons and Beavis and Butthead, and think they're documentaries, will see this as a plan for their futures.

  ...the real take away in all of this, is the line "You are planned and you are damned in this brave new world", & it's true. Progressives want to plan your life from cradle to grave. It didn't work in communist nations, & it won't work now.

    • The Japanese thought about that very thing when considering whether to invade the west coast during WW2. • In my younger days I read 1984 and Animal Farm. Orwell never came up with anything as weird this stuff. This is more of a cross between Spaceballs and Demolition Man. Strange stuff for sure.

  • This was always my favorite of the various dystopias. 1984 was so depressing. But, as a youngster in the nineties, Huxley's version was so much more satisfying with it's prisons being made of all the pleasures that could be had if one were only to sacrifice their individuality.
