That was my heart stress test for the day. I was so surprised by the common sense in that decision that I was sure my heart was going to stop beating.
Can anyone explain the specific policy implemented here and why this was ok, but other states have been contested or beat down?
Our entire legal system has become mystical - by design. It's called "full employment for lawyers".

If you cannot prove you are who you say you are, you should be allowed to vote. If you actually do not have an ID proving who you are, you are not a serious person when it comes to civics.
Good. More states should follow their example.
I think many will and it might just save the election process from the illegals' corrupting presence.
As someone who has been voting in Florida for 10 years, and NJ before, I am trying to figure how people without ID vote. I have to show a picture ID to vote, and my name has to be in the current and active voting list.
What is the problem with following this model?
well in NC you go in , they ask you your name, you tell them your name and they look you up in their book then they ask you for your address and if what you tell them matches what they have on file, then you go vote...but next voting time, we begin showing photo id. :)
It makes it harder to'm cheat.
It's obviously racist.
