Syria sending chemical weapons (back) to Iraq prior to U.N. inspections. Saddam sent them to Syria for safekeeping prior to the Iraq War, now Assad is sending them back to Iraq… a shell game with tin-pot Muslim dictators as the grifters, Russia as the shill, and the United States as the mark.

Dunno, only reason Syria didn't outright side with Iran back in 82´ was the fear that its southern neighbors would take advantage of the situation.
Things are different now, Iraq will back Syria, funny that the medias doesn´t dwell too much on that.
