Tell me something I don’t know.

Washington DC is full of invasive swine, taking over the place, crapping on everything. Frankly, they’re dangerous. There’s an invasion of wild boar going on, too. Who knew? The only solution that works is allowing hunters to harvest them.

  • beg to differ, but these are not wild pigs. these are javelina, or peccaries, and ought not be confused with feral pigs, which are merely domesticated pigs gone wild or razorbacks.

  • I apologize but I am a Christian and I got to put my Christian two cents. Don't anyone here see the irony from a Christian point of view? Swine of course is considered unclean animals in the First Testament. Unclean animals roaming the D.C? I mean come on! Do I need to be more explicit here or do you catch what I am mean here?

    • the widow's mite! Of course, I should've seen it immediately, but I was thinkin' how the OT and the swine that Jesus cast Legion into spoke to the Jews, and not the Christians, for you'll recall that via Peter's vision all food has been made clean, as an allegory to the gentiles being clean.

      • I just like the idea of animals that are biblically considered unclean roaming around Washington D.C., crapping everywhere. As a believer I couldn't contain the giddiness of that. For a long time I have considered Washington and all that Washington represents to be crap, it just seemed like a message from a Higher Power whose sense of humor is undeniable. Pigs are the most identifiable "unclean" animals. However of course it could very easily be snakes however my mind would have gone the route of them representing evil and deceit (the devil), but if it was any other animal I perhaps wouldn't have made the connection to anything biblical.

        With that said of course practicing Jews do not eat pork and pork products. Many Christians do not, however as Christians we have the freedom to eat it as Jesus Himself made it clear that food passes through our bodies and leave our bodies and it is not food that makes us unclean. However, I just love the idea and the possible link of SOMEONE somewhere "saying" something about the state of Washington D.C and Washington culture through these pigs.

        Do you remember when rats were out of a sudden appearing in the White House? Also bees? and a fly was around Obama and he killed it? Uhm :-/

          • Yes let them become patriotic pigs and dropped them Seals-style on the targets and see them freak out. Someone drops pigs on me I would say thank you for the pork and have BBQ that evening.

    • I'd have to say, going by what I've observed, that wild hogs are a great deal cleaner and more attractive than the average congressman.
