Pictures showed that the vests the guys were wearing were penetrated by rounds. Pistol rounds should not penetrate soft armor. Either someone had given these bozos bad vests, or rifle rounds were used. Bad vests could have been a sign that these guys were being watched and maybe even given the bum vests by undercover informants. Rifle rounds would also explain the penetrating shots.
It might be easier to explain a rifleman on the grassy knoll than that these guys were under active surveillance and management- but still got loose from their surveillance.
Probably trying to protect the CI that had connections with the jihadi's.
Or I've watched to many Bourne movies.
We'll know when the autopsy reports come out, or maybe it took this long to fix that.
There are several types of ammo that can penetrate standard issue body armor. Even a .22 long rifle can do it. Any self respecting cop would carry such ammo for just these kinds of events.
