Please, for God's sake:
DO NOT DONATE TO THE RED CROSS!!! Mere pennies on the dollar go the the victims.
The rest goes towards "overhead". Read salaries and bonuses for the directors.
Aunt Sally (the Salvation Army) works entirely with volunteers.
Not only have friends in the military told me about the red cross charging them for coffee and doughnuts in 'Nam when the salvation army were giving them away for free half a mile down the road, I also PERSONALLY know a man who got sent a bill from the red cross for showing up at his place after an apartment fire and "helping out".

We all are. However, unlike Hurricane Sandy, which hit mostly liberal areas, Okies are mostly conservatives. So the media will not give a fig about them. On the other hand, unlike Sandy "victims" who are still living in tent cities waiting for the government to help them months later, the okies will rebuild and move on, all by themselves. I'm sending a donation to help.
