    • Good grief, that's the crookedest union in the history of the world. You must cringe every time you see the dues coming out of your check. All unions are crooked but the Teamsters are so crooked they actually have mob hits. I won't ever forgive the bastards because I had two uncles with large families who worked their whole lives driving trucks and ended up with pathetic pensions. Last I heard the pension fund was saying it could not survive without drastic cuts to retirees or federal rescue, and last I heard from Jimmy Jr. he was on a stage screaming that his union members would "take out" the Tea Party. So I don't see how he's any better than his daddy.

      • The dues is a real rub for sure. I've gotten them back off the other end though. One of my kids earned a 10K scholarship from the James R Hoffa Scholarship fund. I gave her some key words and phrases to incorporate into the essay she wrote. It worked.

    • Unions blindly back democrats because of empty promises. Just like minorities, and welfare recipients as a whole, they have been duped into believing the left is on their side. If they would only open their eyes and look, they would see that the right is all about the prosperity and growth of the working class. Which in turn provides jobs and a way for millions of others to get off welfare and contribute to an even larger and healthy working class.

      • I'm a member of International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 12, retired. Got into the apprentice program in 1978, and I really appreciate what the apprentice program did for me. But the indoctrination was pretty intense. I can see how a lot of people fell for it. I got in trouble with the union a few times for saying things like, "I was an American before I joined the union, and I'll be an American after I'm gone from the union. I'll vote what I feel is best for America, not the union." I'm proud to say I never once voted the way the union told me to.

        • I'm a retired firefighter. Our dept. prided itself on being 100% union. You pretty much didn't have a choice in being a member unless you wanted to be shunned by everyone else. When I was a driver my Capt. at the time was our union local president. He knew I was conservative and how I felt about the left but he would still try to get me to vote democratic. Unbelievable how strong the unions are for democrats. Sad really. There were only a handful of us on the dept. that stood for the right.

• And the bashing came from Mother Jones, about as hard left as you can find. Joe just isn't loony enough to satisfy the Democrat Party today.

  • It will be interesting to see if the far left will be able to nominate one of their loony socialist. I doubt it, but if they do it will be republicans to win. The only reason Biden is doing so well is union support. The unions have to have a democrat and it's looking like old Joe is the only one they trust.
