Holder advising brainwashing to affect gun elimination for the citizens of this country - http://www.reagancoalition.com/articles/2012/20120320003-eric-holder-guns.html
The 2nd Amendment allows us to defend ourselves against the tyranny of our own government, that's why the Founders included it. If it was about hunting or self defense, thats what it would have specifically stated. It's the 2nd Amendment that allows us to enforce / protect the entire Bill of Rights. Despite this governments best attempts (NDAA, Patriot Act, etc), you cannot legalize tyranny.
A lot of people have used the hunting/target/sporting purpose BS as fed to them by the marxist state media. I'd ask how the framers decided to put it in position 2, after freedom of the press. I guess pornography was big on their list. Nothing in the Bill of Rights to the Constitution of the United States is there to limit government intrusion or tyranny. No, no ,no, no! What is it about these 'freedom lover' types and the mistaken understanding of those basic words from oh those centuries ago, written by those old, smelly white guys! Its all about skeet shooting and strippers!
You forgot the whiskey, FDH!
Not me, I never forget!
An oversight on my part which I can never live down. Damn the torpedoes!
Read John Ross's book Unintended Consequences. It gives an interesting history of WHY firearms restrictions came into effect, as well as some other, shall we say "thought provoking" answers as to the cure for many of this nations ills.
The PRKalif. was open carry until they passed a bunch more anti-gun laws last year. Not sure, but I think Kevin DeLeon was behind it. He's one of the very worst anti-gun Libslobs in this state, and he's always trying get more laws passed to eliminate our 2A rights. 5 more years and I can bail on this s***hole and retire to Alaska, where they LOVE guns and have very few restrictions.
Guy S., in 5 years you'll be one of the very few producers left, you sure they'll let you leave?
If they don't confiscate my firearms, I'll get out!
I'm actually going up to AK next month for 10 days vacation--maybe I'll get stuck and never come back. Maybe I'll spend my weekends flying into trout lakes with my friend (his floatplane you see in my avatar).
The problem with the open carry that USED to be legal in CA is that it had to be unloaded. Now, I ask you. How silly is carrying an unloaded gun?
As silly as carrying a free ten dollar cell phone apparently....
You only got two thoughts, free phones, and big corporations, I guess that makes you two-dimensional in a three dimensional world. I suppose you are scared of guns too, that would fit the libturd profile.
Considering that that phone thread probably attracts 90% of this site's traffic, it seems like a pretty good example to keep bringing up. Espectially since someone created a similar one a few weeks ago. You guys must despise anyone getting anything free, even something as small as a 10 dollar phone.
Oh, and I do own guns. And I'm voting for Ron Paul. I don't fit your definition of a "libturd"
"You guys" just don't get it, nothing in this life is free, somebody has to pay for it one way or another.
Moron or libturd? I would say both since Ron Paul isn't on the ballot so you can't vote for him, and second because you think anything given to you is free. Liberturdmoron, now that fits.
You do realize you can vote for whoever you want? Another brainwashed by the corrupt 2 party system.
Of course you can, but that doesn't mean you aren't wrong about it somehow, because you are. You diddled yourself several posts ago, stating that Dr. Paul is running on the Libertarian ticket. That's completely erroneous. He's planning to speak at the RNC convention down here as the same Republican candidate he has been this cycle. I suspect that might be his most rousing speech ever. I won't watch it unless it gets posted and the word is it was indeed rousing. I won't be watching the convention at all. I'll be watching the street cameras.
From the Libertarian Party website "... Governor Gary Johnson, the Libertarian Party nominee for president. However, he is currently polling between 5% - 7% nationally, with just five months to go. Unless he reaches 15% support level nationally before Labor Day, Johnson will be ineligible for the three presidential debates scheduled in October. Without those debates, Johnson will be hard-pressed to make any sort of impact come November. So, how viable does the prospect of a third party candidature appear to be this time around? At the moment, it’s not looking so good." - link at http://2012.libertarian-party.org/
I'll tape RPs speech and play it at 1/2 speed so he doesn't sound like Theodore Chipmunk.
That voice is like a nail gun to the head!
John, try to have a reasonable thought in your head. I would like to have Ron Paul as President also, with Herman Cain as VP. Or vice versa. But, and I say this sadly, IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.
I will probably vote for Paul as a write in, just to make myself feel better, since I live in California and Obama gets the delegates from here anyway. But I don't have any delusions that it is going to make a difference.
As usual, you're completely full of dung. I know that Dr. Paul has not within his capacity the ability to win an election against Romney and burock pipe. Not one sliver of a chance.
You know Paul is your only hope. Romney is just as much of a sell out as obama.
Yea, in the primary I could afford to make my "statement" vote and flip the lever for Herman Cain, but in the general, it's got to be Romney, or the ruination of the republic!
If he had any charisma at all he would have fared better, IMO. I admit liking a lot of his ideas. In the system of checks and balances the truly wacky ideas are usually tamed somewhat before getting implemented if at all, so he didn't scare me. Not my first choice out of the bozos we were given to choose from and frankly I'd rather Paul than Romney, and that's says a lot about what's wrong with the whole damn thing. Of course I won't be throwing a no confidence vote for Paul over Romney which is the same as giving it to burock pipe. That AIN'T happening.
No, but you do fit my definition of moron.
One note whistle splooging up the aisles of this site, a precondition of which is moronucleosis.
I am a natural born Texan and current resident. Open carry in the Lone Star state is permitted for unloaded long rifles - not handguns, unless you on are your own property.
Darn, I was hoping it was correct!
I hate concealed carry permits - they violate the Constitution. Open carry without permit complies with the Constitution.
Can one of our Texas contingent verify something for me?
I heard that open carry was permitted in the Lone Star State.
Did I hear correctly?
No. Open carry is NOT permitted in public. Only on your own private land.
At least in Texas. Ohio has open carry. If you won a hand gun, you can open carry it. However, the vehicle transportation laws make open carry without a CHL very difficult.
Yes, well moving to Ohio isn't an option, I hate snow!
poppajoe49
You can open carry in the Commonwealths of KY and VA. It's always nice to see all of the attention you get when you do. :)
Good evening all, another long day in the old salt mines but I had to check in.
New Mexico has a concealed carry law for some stupid reason, it has no laws against open carrying on your person or in your vehicle. As long as people can "reasonably" see your weapon you are good to go!
And there is no permit required for concealed carry in Vermont. Nobody notices when you carry concealed.
REALLY?? The Peoples Republic of Vermont has a no permit concealed carry? I think I'm going to pass out!
The only state that has ever gotten an A+ rating consistently from NRA for their take on it.
Turns out Vermont has no permit concealed carry and no permit open carry, too! The loud ringing noise happens when you find out that you need permission from your parents to carry if you're under 16 years of age!
The whole place is too close to No York and is all a bit on the sparse side while being pretty rugged country. Winters must get nuts. While freezing in snow and ice and wind isn't in my list of desirable conditions, I sure am sick of heat and humidity. If I were certain I could successfully forage berries and beer there I wouldn't hesitate. Probably back to Mawakkee next spring for me. They finally got concealed carry issue there and a sign of sanity in the politics - sorta, a little bit. The mandatory auto insurance isn't nearly so much of a rape job like I'm getting here in florida.
I'd love to live in such a place, but the winters in Vermont are a deal breaker. My lady grew up there, lived most of her life there, and refuses to return other than for a short visit.
They sure have a way of accepting the Bill of Rights in its own words - http://www.usacarry.com/vermont_concealed_carry_permit_information.html
Honestly, the age thing seems a little off to me, but that could change with the perspective from which it is viewed, I suppose.
I'm stunned.
Yeah, but the MSRP is what the shop charges! Maybe get a little discount at one of the local stores. Hmmm. There are none local other than the factory. Gotta go to Orlando or something. Maybe one of the gun shows. Like I said, not anytime soon.
But look at how much you'll save on shipping! ;-)
I know. Not really all that expensive, especially considering the AOW stamp is only 5 bucks! Still, I won't be affording one too quickly.
Dean, those are made in Tampa!!

Flash, don't the shells go off on their own from the heat?
I'd like to carry this in open mode. The shoulder holster for this is a little cumbersome. http://parrotheadjeff.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/03/DSCN1091C.jpg
and disholstered

Arizona has open carry without a permit.
John Lott has it exactly correct. We get there most times after the fact and have to deal with the aftermath. Look at Washington DC, New York and Chicago. All have screwed up gun laws and each have high crime rates and murder rates.
It's always best to let LE handle things if possible. But you need to be ready and able to defend you and yours.
If anything, we should subsidize free guns for the poor.
If leftards treated gun rights the way they treated other rights and "rights," we'd have seen that since about 1967.
/And I bet crime would be way down in the ghettos by now.
So you're saying that you support entitlement programs? I mean if helping these people rather then calling them "scammers" or "abusers" can "bring crime down" then they can't be bad right?
The government doesn't have any guns for the "poor people". Big Barry and the Holder Company gave them all away to Mexican drug lords.
You really are that stupid!
What? I'm just agreeing with him that he thinks that everyone owning a gun would help deter crime. I don't know how that is "stupid"
So, you're too stupid to read your own post?
Yea, because the poor don't already have enough illegal guns.
Better yet, let's make owning a firearm a requirement to citizenship in this nation. Everyone should have a gun, & it should be punished with fines & jail time.
You know, I've never thought much of Stossel. But I now will give him another chance. That was very well done.

Very interesting video. It makes great points.
