The European project is splitting apart at the very core. Beyond its national bankruptcy, Greece is the fault line where the political ground is fracturing, threatening not just the increasingly shaky eurozone but perhaps the post-WWII Franco-German alliance itself. Back to the future? Deja-vu all over again? Stay tuned.

The greedy workers cannot be reasonable and accept that they have to work past the age of 55 before they can retire? Not one of them cares that the country is bankrupt, all they care about is their government gimme's.

Just like everything else it goes in cycles, the countries of Europia have been at each other's throats off and on since the beginning of time as we know it. They got together to play nice, had a party, slipped in the "Greece" and now everyone is running to the lawyers..Next someone will probably shoot someone somewhere in Europia and we will get to watch history repeat itself, and when it happens, France will formally surrender in the first 20 minutes....
Greece made the mistake of buying into the utopianist idea of democracy way back when Plato was writing The Republic; so they've always had a top down idea about control and when the Nazis came to town they were toying with the bottom up ideas of Marx, Ingles and Lenin. I suppose it'll take them as long to get rid of this new bad idea as it took them to get rid of their old bad idea. In the meantime, the rest of the EU is still picking its nose and we're standing around with our hands in our pockets wondering if we should go down the same road.
Interesting the seat of Democracy has in essence been destroyed.
