The GOP Sitcom Just Got Serious. With Justice Scalia gone it’s no longer if my candidate _________ doesn’t get the nomination I a) won’t vote, or b) I will write in my favorite. It’s if we don’t get a GOP president we’re screwed and not just plain old screwed, we’re screwed big time. It’s time to man or woman up, hold your nose and vote for the GOP candidate, regardless who it is. If GOP voters stay bitchy and the Democrat candidate is elected we’ll have no trouble saying ‘we told you so’ every time one of the amendments in the Bill of Rights gets whacked, providing we don’t get whacked by the Democrats.

In the Republican primaries, I vote for who I think is best out of that large pile of garbage. In the national election, I vote for the Libertarian. Now, before you go all ballistic about wasting my vote, remember, I live in California. ALL of California's electoral votes will go straight to whatever Democrat has managed to lie his or her way into the candidacy. My vote does NOT count.

I was no fan of George W Bush, and went with the "lesser of 2 evils" concept.
Was a Bush presidency better than a Gore presidency would have been? HELL YES! Just think of Kyoto. If Gore had signed us on to that crap (and all his other climate B.S.) just think what would have happened! They would have claimed the drop in temperatures as the result of their actions, the public would have said, "He's right! There WAS global warming! And we stopped it with some legislation!" and the enviro-Nazis would control American industry FOREVER.
Also, Bush put the kibosh on partial birth abortion.
So, yeah. Sign me up on the lesser of two evils every damned time.
Progressives are great at playing rush-rush-rush-punt and keep moving the ball. Conservatives, especially the Libertarian wing, try to throw Hail Mary passes- all or nothing. They go from JFK to Bernie Sanders in a generation. They get as much as they can get thru compromise and then come back for more the next day. If conservatives don't get what they want they throw a tantrum and wait for the 'told you so'.

In a duopoly, you vote for the least evil and move the scrum pile in the direction you want.
