THE NO. 1 THREAT TO TEXAS — AND IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS OR ECONOMICS

• Not only are the cartels a threat to Texas, they are becoming a threat to much of the US. We deal with them all the time from drugs, prostitution and human trafficking.

  These animals have no problem dying and taking anyone they can with them. If they cant take you out, they will come after a family member. That is the very reason, that I don't have a cruiser setting in front of my house.

• The headline is dead wrong. C-Scope is all about politcs.

• The headline isn't right, illegal immigration is all about economics and the iditocy of politics. The law abiding citizens living on both sides of the border have depended on each other since our borders were established. Mexicans come here to buy what they cannot get at home, Americans cross over to buy cheaper products in Mexico. It's an economic reality for all the border towns.

  Unfortunately, due to the extreme ineptitude of the Mexican government, the drug cartels have moved in along with the violence the drug trade brings with it. There is also the cultural norm called "mordida", or the bite. Lawmen are paid such low wages they have to rely on the occasional bribe, the bite, to be able to afford to raise a family. What would you do if someone offered you a years worth of wages to turn your back for 10 minutes? Especially if you have children to feed?

  As far as I am concerned the only solution is to secure our borders. Close them up tighter than a bulls ass and the cartels will be forced to find other avenues to get their drugs into our country. This would help slow down border violence since the cartels would have to change locations and eventually be a plus for everyone on both sides of the line.

  • Unfortunately, many of the Cartels are both producing and selling in the US already. Our national forests are being used as marijuana farms and the meth labs are everywhere. While I absolutely think we need to close the borders for national defense if nothing else, the problem now goes far beyond that alone as a solution.

    • Shut down illegal marijuana production and sales by having it available in a pack of 20 at the local stop and rob, just like ordinary cancer sticks. The cartels aren't set up for legal commerce.

• Well, indirectly it does have to do with politics and economics. CSCOPE may be the 2d biggest threat to Texas.

  • I'm still wondering how CSCOPE ever took hold in Texas. I could see it in the libtard states, but there? Weird.
