  • Instead of trying to impeach him, can't we just tell him that he's done such a good job as president, that he's being rewarded with a 2-1/2 year vacation? We can let him stay on Martha's Vineyard for the rest of his term, and get Fred Thompson to do his ventriloquist act with Biden's corpse, kinda like a Weekend at Bernie's in DC.

        Did you know that, back during Bush's administration, Canadian maple leaf stickers were selling more briskly than usual? That's because many American travelers were putting the stickers on their suitcases, in hopes that people would mistake them for Canadians. True story. And why did they want to be mistaken for Canadians? Because Bush was detested abroad.
        I was on the receiving end of some animosity myself, when I traveled to Europe during those years. It hasn't happened to me, though, since Obama took office. Like it or not, he's respected abroad.

          • My dear stupid little child, it was the gov. under CLINTON sanctioning the banks to hand out mortgages to people who they knew DAMN WELL were incapable of paying them that led to the crash. OF COURSE the banks were gonna write as many mortgages as they could since they had reassurance from the clinton White House that taxpayer money would be used to bail them out when the mortgages inevitably went bad. I understand that like ALL lefties, you are stupid, and incapable of thinking, but I hope that this might sink in to your pea-brain. Also, obstructionist republicans in congress have done NOTHING to stop obama's legislative rampages, (Nevermind the fact that he is head of the EXECUTIVE branch) so I don't know what point you could be possibly trying to make there. The only reason the economy has sunk into full-blown depression is because of them. If Bobo the Idiot King had his way, gas would be thirty bucks a gallon, and electricity would be $450 per kilowatt hour.

      Now that we've got that settled, please tell me why you don't think it proper for the president of the United States to vacation anywhere he please. Did you bitch about Laura Bush's five trips to Africa during the Bush administration? Or the Paris shopping spree that she and her daughters enjoyed at taxpayers' expense? Or Bush's 70-odd trips to the bicycle ranch, all of which required the same level of security and costly transportation that Obama's occasional vacations entail?

      Of course you didn't. But that was different, right?

          • Wrong, Poopa. There were several reasons for the outrage during Katrina:

            1) Bush appointed a crony with zero disaster management experience to head FEMA.

            2) Even though the entire nation knew ahead of time that Katrina was a huge storm, and was going to make landfall on the Gulf Coast, Bush took off for a round of partying and merrymaking at that time. He claimed he didn't know the extent of the damage. But shouldn't he have known? Shouldn't he have kept himself available, especially since he had left a horse judge in charge of the nation's disaster response?

            3) The Bush administration had slashed federal allocations to the Lake Pontchartrain levees previously, even though the Army Corps of Engineers warned him that the levees would not withstand another hurricane of Katrina's magnitude.

            4) The people who criticized Bush for not showing up at Katrina did so because Americans were dying. There was no fresh water. There was little food. People couldn't access their medications. There was danger of infectious diseases and dehydration. We wanted him to stop fooling around with birthday parties and impromptu guitar concerts, and FOCUS on the plight of hundreds of Americans.

            In contrast, you righties don't care if those immigrant children get sick or die. You just want them out of the U.S. So exactly what is it that you hope or expect would happen if Obama did visit the border?

            You know something? I don't think you know what you want. You're just parroting what you hear on talk radio. You're demanding that Obama go there, because you think he should jump when you say jump.
