Why not? The administration has hired unqualified Muslims for important posts like DHS.
Maybe they could get some of those democrats..uh I mean those democrats who sit by the side of the road with a cardboard sign making money tax free...well wait...they don't want to work..never mind.

Or even worse, "6 week wonders" which is what they called the kids that were going into a low skilled job like supply.
I don't see how this is controversial. The military has always done this, especially in time of war. The best example is doctors: when doctors come into the military they don't come in as enlisted men. Same thing with lawyers. To a certain extent the military will try to train up its own doctors and lawyers, and try to keep them in the reserves for when they're needed, but generally they need to bring extras in to meet demand.
Peacetime example: when the Pentagon needs top-level software coders to monitor defense contracts, what are they gonna do, wait for some enlisted guy to show a talent for coding and hope he turns into what they need ten years down the line? Hell no.
On the flip side, Dad says when the Army started ramping up for WWII, they brought in all kinds of federal workers and tried to make them Army officers--mailmen, Forest Service guys, Land Office guys--and THAT idea did not work out well.
It would be a better idea to require two years as an enlisted man(or woman) before you are eligible to become an officer.
